Smartly updated styling strikes futuristic lines, whilst the wide tyre size, long-travel rear suspension, ABS and Honda Selectable Torque Control, ensure a smooth and confident ride. The PCX125 has practicality on its side too with under seat storage for a full-face helmet.

Time on your side
There’s no waiting around for an expensive taxi, or delayed public transport with the PCX125 – just hit the start button and go. The slim, agile frame can wriggle through town traffic with ease, taking you where you need to be in style – and on time.

Around town practicality
The ignition is operated by the Smart Key – just put the key in your pocket and ride. It also manages the optional Smart top box, which is unlocked when you’re close to your PCX125, and automatically locks when you walk away.

Improved efficiency and performance
Powered by a new eSP+ four-valve, water-cooled SOHC engine, the PCX is more efficient than ever before. With technology such as Idling Stop technology and an AGC generator, the PCX isn’t just more powerful but also EURO5 compliant.

Look the part
The PCX125 is designed to get you where you want to be in the city and look good as it does. Its stunning looks have always grabbed attention, never more so than now, but, hidden away beneath the swooping bodywork, are details that make life that much easier.

RIDE SMARTER

The 2023 PCX is Honda at its best: smart, versatile transportation that takes the hassle out of getting from place to place. Because it’s a scooter, it slips through traffic and makes finding parking easy. Because it’s a Honda, you know it’s built way better than the bargain-basement no-name scooters out there. Because it features a generous underseat storage compartment, it’s versatile for running errands to the grocery store or to class. Because it offers such spectacular fuel efficiency, gas prices won’t take such a big bite out of your budget. Plus, the PCX is just plain fun. A new color for 2023 keeps things fresh, and this year every PCX comes with our front-wheel anti-lock brake system, standard.

HISTORY
Since it was introduced abroad in 2009, the PCX125 (as it was called then) has always been about a high-quality, relaxing scooter experience. It grew to a 149cc displacement in 2009, with the fuel-sipping eSP engine. LED lighting came five years later, and the PCX150 was first offered to U.S. customers in 2015. A new double-underbone frame structure offered an improved ride starting in 2018. A 2021 upgrade included a boost in displacement to 157 cc, and the model was renamed as the PCX.

Operated with the handlebar switch, where it will be able adjust the temperature level. An integrated circuit protects the battery from draining. Must be combined with Grip Heater Attachment.

COMFORT

RIDER COMFORT

The long, plush seat is even more comfortable than it looks. Plus, you’ll give your co-pilot an incredible view thanks to the stepped passenger section.

CONVENIENCE

UNDER-SEAT STORAGE

Flip the seat open and you’ll see a surprisingly large amount of storage room, enough for most full-face helmets or an evening’s worth of groceries. The main compartment locks for security and is weather-resistant, too. With a full 30 liters of capacity (nearly eight gallons), it’s plenty big enough for everyday use.

EASY TO PARK

The PCX gives you the choice of both a sidestand and a centerstand. That makes it easy to park for a fast dash into a store (the sidestand) or when you need to park it upright in a tighter space (the centerstand). With a lot of other scooters, you only get one or the other.

ELECTRIC START

Turn the key, press the button and the PCX’s fuel-injected engine starts right up and runs smooth, even in colder weather.

FRESH STYLE

With the PCX, you enjoy world-class style and premium features. Check out the large, central LED headlight, integrated LED turn signals, and easy-to-read LCD instrumentation, all which help give the PCX a premium look and feel.

THE “X” FACTOR

Take a look at the PCX’s “X”-shaped tail lamp. It uses multi-optics technology, emitting bright light in an eye-catching design.

FUEL CAPACITY

The PCX is incredibly fuel efficient–its large 2.1-gallon fuel tank means you can go even longer and ride even further between fill-ups.

TECHNOLOGY

ANTI-LOCK BRAKES

The PCX offers our front-wheel Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), giving you the power to make confident stops, even in less-than-ideal conditions.

12-VOLT CHARGING PORT

The PCX features an integral USB-type socket in the fairing storage compartment, making it super easy to keep your personal electronics charged up while you’re on the go.

FRAME

Great handling starts with a solid chassis design, and that’s where our latest PCX really shines. It uses a duplex-cradle design rather than the more common “underbone” style.

V-MATIC TRANSMISSION

With the Honda V-Matic™ automatic transmission, just start the engine, twist the throttle and go. That means no shifting, ever—you concentrate on the road ahead and enjoy the ride! The V-Matic is a continuously variable design, so you’ll never feel it lurch from one gear to another.

PERFORMANCE

4-VALVE ENGINE

The PCX’s engine displaces 157cc, for plenty of get up and go. The eSP+ technology (enhanced smart power) uses a new four-valve design with a bore/stroke ratio specially designed to lower emissions and provide responsive performance.

PGM FUEL INJECTION

The PCX features liquid cooling and Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) for great performance in all traffic conditions. Plus the PCX offers impressive fuel efficiency.

HYDRAULIC CAM-CHAIN ADJUSTER

The engine in the PCX features a hydraulic cam-chain adjustment that’s totally automatic. This eliminates a routine maintenance point—another example of how Honda engineers make the PCX even easier to own.

ROLLER BEARING CRANK

The PCX engine uses special, low-friction roller bearings in the crankshaft to help give you a smooth-running powerplant that gets great mileage too.

2023 Honda PCX Totalmotorcycle.com Features and Benefits

DESIGN / STYLING
The PCX is the standard-setter for scooter styling, with a modern look to go with its unmatched performance.

  • Brilliant LED technology is used for all lighting. The headlights are positioned in a horizontal row for both low and high beams, creating a line that flows to the back of the vehicle. The taillight design has a three-dimensional effect and incorporates the “X” shape that distinguishes the PCX.
  • Wide meter has a high-visibility LCD display in the center and displays a range of easily readable information. A fuel-consumption readout, clock, speedometer, odometer, trip meter and fuel gauge are all included, as are a low-battery voltage-warning light and V-belt replacement-time indicator. The meter shape matches the scooter design’s relaxing image, and the three-dimensional bezel structure looks stylish even when the meter is not lit.
  • The model has a recognizable chrome handlebar, and the clamp cover has a square shape to match the vehicle design.
  • The engine cover matches the scooter’s design lines.
  • The handy under-seat storage compartment has a volume of 30 liters, plenty to store a full-face helmet.
  • The front storage compartment is easy to access from the seated position. The compartment Includes a USB-C socket for charging electronic devices like smart phones. There’s also sufficient space (1.7 liters) to store a plastic bottle.
  • The underside of the fuel-tank door incorporates a convenient holder in which the fuel cap can be placed during refueling.
  • A rubber-mounted handlebar holder minimizes vibration for hand comfort.
  • The footrest area provides a riding position that is adaptable to riders of differing body sizes.

ENGINE / DRIVETRAIN
The PCX’s engine is well-suited for around-town commutes, but its over-150cc displacement means it is also freeway-capable. Despite offering good power, the scooter is also known for its incredible fuel efficiency. In addition, the PCX has Honda Selectable Torque Control—technology typically reserved for high-performance models.

  • Oversquare bore-and-stroke figures (60.0 and 55.5mm, respectively) result in a 156.9cc displacement. Not only is the engine freeway-capable, but the short stroke minimizes sliding friction for enhanced power.
  • The engine has a four-valve layout, enhancing intake and exhaust efficiency for strong power.
  • The inlet system has a high-capacity 4.9 liter air cleaner, and the throttle body diameter is 28mm for maximum efficiency.
  • The exhaust system has the catalyzer positioned to clean exhaust gases, allowing good power while protecting the environment.
  • The low-friction Honda V-Matic automatic transmission provides smooth, predictable acceleration while also bolstering fuel efficiency.
  • The crankshaft is rigid and uses a roller bearing, minimizing flex generated by inertial force and combustion energy at high rpm. The result is low noise and vibration.
  • Piston-cooling oil jets—technology used in high-performance models like the CRF450R motocrosser—are utilized. Engine oil is sprayed on the underside of the piston, aiding cooling and preventing knocking while also enabling ignition timing advance for enhanced power output.
  • A number of friction-minimizing technologies maximize engine efficiency. For example, a hydraulic lifter operates the cam-chain-tensioner so that the tensioner reduces chain vibration and mechanical noise, while improving fuel efficiency. Additional friction-reducing features include a roller rocker arm, an offset cylinder, a spiny cylinder sleeve and a double-cog belt.
  • HSTC improves safety in situations with limited traction. The system monitors wheel speed and throttle opening and, when slip is detected, intervenes by limiting engine torque. An indicator on the meter informs rider that HSTC is being employed. The system can be turned off if desired.
  • The pulley diameter and shape are optimized to minimize friction and noise.
  • The clutch shape and transmission-shaft size optimize the clutch’s vibration characteristics for smooth acceleration from stops.
  • The PCX engine has friction-reducing features like a roller rocker arm, an offset cylinder, a spiny cylinder sleeve and a double-cog belt.

CHASSIS / SUSPENSION
Hidden beneath the PCX’s styling is a modern chassis aimed at minimizing weight, maximizing handling and ensuring the comfort for which this scooter is known.

  • A simple frame structure delivers a comfortable ride and good cornering performance by optimally balancing weight minimization and rigidity. Using CAE analysis, engineers optimized pipe diameters, material selection, material thickness and joint locations, minimizing weight enhancing vehicle handling and maneuverability.
  • The rear grab rail’s shape and thickness enhance passenger hand grip. By minimizing weight of components that are located far from the vehicle’s core, engineers centralized mass for good handling and maneuverability.
  • The aluminum wheels (14-inch front, 13-inch rear) have five Y-shaped spokes for optimum rigidity balance, contributing to a safe, comfortable, smooth ride. The tires have a wide profile—110/70-14 front, 130/70-13 rear—and the considerable air volume contributes to good linear handling performance and a comfortable ride.
  • Strong brakes front and rear deliver powerful, controlled stopping performance, and one-channel ABS is standard.
  • Rear-wheel travel is 3.7 inches, for a comfortable ride on rough roads.
  • The large 2.1 gallon fuel tank is located under the floorboard, contributing to a low center of gravity and enhanced riding traits.
