There’s no place for fake in the lifestyle you choose. Kawasaki alone has the heritage to deliver yesterday’s values to today’s riders in a truly authentic Modern Classic bike. The visceral spirit of a 1970s legend – Kawasaki’s original king of cool Z1 – finds expression in the Z900RS, to satisfy the very essence of the rider you are now.

A round LED headlight and oval surface-emitting LED taillight pay homage to the original Z1 with a blend of retro and modern designs.

The high-tech multi-function LCD screen nestles between bullet-shape analogue dials, creating a balance of retro style and modern functionality.

A classic look with machining on the spokes and rim, plus high-quality paint demonstrates superb craftsmanship.

The combination of a lightweight trellis frame and powerful engine allows the Z900RS motorcycle to achieve a superb balance of power and handling.

The powerful in-line four delivers strong acceleration and silky-smooth performance for cruising at higher rpm.

Based on sound research, the exhaust has been tuned to deliver a satisfying rumble during engine start and idling.

Seat is well cushioned and comfortable for extended highway cruising and enhanced road bump absorption.

Retro design meets modern technology and performance for superb riding comfort around town and on the highway.

The modern lightweight trellis frame provides strength to harness the in-line four power and balanced flex to achieve responsive and agile handling.

A relaxed upright riding position accommodates both comfortable cruising and sporty riding. A low seat height allows an easy reach to the ground while an upright handlebar position adds leverage for cornering and low-speed manoeuvring.

Powerful braking performance featuring a firm, progressive feel is helped by modern radial-mount calipers and a radial-pump brake master cylinder. A compact and lightweight Nissin motorcycle ABS unit helps reduce wheel lock-up under certain conditions.

A fully adjustable ø41 mm inverted front fork and a Horizontal Back-link rear suspension offer progressive damping that delivers both ride comfort and sporty performance.

A high-grade variation of the Z900RS, the new Z900RS SE features a new Brembo brake package and a high-grade Öhlins rear shock to deliver a plusher ride feel and even greater control. The Z900RS SE recalls another of Kawasaki’s iconic old-school Z models with vivid “Yellow Ball” livery that is sure to turn heads and pluck nostalgic heartstrings.

ø300 mm Brembo front discs, M4.32 radial-mount monobloc calipers and pads complemented by a smaller-diameter Nissin radial-pump master cylinder and steel-braided lines deliver greater stopping power and offer a linear progression that facilitates precise control.

Complementing the large-diameter inverted fork, Öhlins rear suspension offers both increased ride comfort and a more planted feel. Gold-coloured fork outer tubes match the Öhlins rear shock and contribute to the eye-catching styling.

Iconic “Yellow Ball” Styling

Drawing from Kawasaki’s collection of legendary machines, the Z900RS SE’s styling is reminiscent of the iconic “Yellow Ball,” a black and yellow version of the orange and brown “Fireball” paint of the original Z1.

Brembo Brakes

Front brake package with Brembo components (discs, calipers, pads) offers stronger stopping power and contributes to even more precise control and greater ease of use

Supple Suspension

Complementing the large diameter inverted fork, Öhlins rear suspension offers both increased ride comfort and a more planted feel.

Strong, Smooth In-Line Four Engine

Like the Z1, the Z900RS features a 948cc-class In-Line Four – an engine configuration that inherently offers a great balance of power and manageability. Tuning focuses on the low-mid range. Revs build in a measured, but very determined manner, giving the rider a sense of connectedness between the throttle and rear wheel.

Assist & Slipper Clutch

Race-inspired clutch technology offers both a much lighter feel at the lever, as well as a back-torque limiting function that helps prevent rear-wheel hop when downshifting.

Kawasaki’s First Tuned Exhaust Note

While Kawasaki In-Line Four engines are historically renowned for their great-sounding exhausts, this the first time that Kawasaki has conducted sound research to craft a model’s ideal exhaust note. Designed to elicit rider response, the sound tuning focused on the engine’s initial roar to life, idling and low-speed riding where the rider is best able to enjoy the exhaust’s deep rumble.

Radial-pump front brake master cylinder also contributes to the superb control and feel offered by the calipers. For added braking reassurance, ABS is a standard feature on the Z900RS SE.

KTRC (Kawasaki TRaction Control)

Contributing to rider reassurance, the Z900RS SE is equipped with advanced Kawasaki rider support technology. KTRC features two modes that cover a wide range of riding conditions, offering either enhanced sport riding performance or the peace of mind to negotiate slippery surfaces with confidence. Riders may also elect to turn the system off.
