2025 Aprilia Tuareg Rally 660: PEAK OFF-ROAD PERFORMANCE.
Introducing the new 2025 Aprilia Tuareg Rally 660…
Following a remarkable sporting journey that saw it triumph on its debut in the Africa Eco Race – the gruelling rally-raid that retraces the routes of the legendary African Dakar – Aprilia presents the Tuareg Rally at EICMA 2024, an adventure bike dedicated to peak off-road performance and, in many respects, very close to the competition version that, with Jacopo Cerutti in the saddle, was crowned Queen of Africa.
The Tuareg’s off-road spirit
Following on from the success of the Tuareg Racing project, we bring you the Aprilia Tuareg Rally, a derivation of the competition version which was crowned King of Africa in the 2024 Africa Eco Race.
Introducing the new twin-cylinder benchmark which is looking to dominate the most challenging off-road adventures.
Meanwhile, the Aprilia Tuareg 660 continues to evolve, courtesy of a new Euro 5+ engine, redesigned front lighting unit and brand-new racing colour options.
Aprilia Tuareg Rally, the new king of off-road twin-cylinders, is designed for adventurers who aren’t prepared to compromise. The Aprilia Racing department’s experience and multiple champion Jacopo Cerutti team up to satisfy the most demanding Enduro riders out there, delivering maximum performance and thrills on any type of terrain.
APRILIA TUAREG 2025: RALLY REVOLUTION
2025 sees the arrival of the eagerly-awaited Aprilia Tuareg Rally, the ultimate off-road twin-cylinder that is a follow-on from the Aprilia Tuareg Racing’s winning formula. Designed to deliver maximum off-road performance, it features a rally race replica livery with specialised gold-coloured components, dedicated engine mapping and a titanium SC Project exhaust, and has a curb weight of just 199 kg. Alongside it, the Aprilia Tuareg 660 continues to evolve, with a new Euro 5+ engine offering improved low-end torque, a redesigned front end and new Tornado Green and Hailstorm White colour schemes, both paired with a red frame.

The Aprilia Tuareg Rally was developed based on the invaluable experience gained by Aprilia Racing in creating the Tuareg racing bike in technical collaboration with the Guareschi brothers’ GCorse. Building on the already excellent off-road capabilities of the standard Tuareg, this bike quickly became the new benchmark for twin-cylinder adventure bikes. It clinched the 2023 Italian Motorally Championship with Jacopo Cerutti – who retained the title this year – before astonishing everyone on its debut in the desert dunes, dominating the Africa Eco Race from the first stage to the legendary finish line at Dakar’s Lac Rose.
2025 Aprilia Tuareg Rally 660 Totalmotorcycle.com Features and Benefits
Rally replica
Aprilia Tuareg Rally is available in the very same unmistakable “Rally race replica” colour that adorned Jacopo Cerutti’s bike when he crossed the legendary Dakar finish line in first place in January 2024. The fork, wheel rims and handlebar are all finished in a sporty anodised gold colour, while tapered lines, an ultra-protective aluminium sump and a new high mudguard showcase the bike’s uncompromising off-road character. The raised seat and larger handlebar offer increased control while riding in standing position on particularly extreme stretches.
Born for off-road
Equipped with a custom engine map, Aprilia Tuareg Rally offers a quicker, more responsive throttle response. This setup ensures optimal control when overcoming obstacles, allowing for precise handling on the most challenging off-road sections. The SC Project exhaust, specifically designed for the Rally, is made from titanium and features a racing end cap with a 60 mm outlet to enhance performance and sound. It also reduces the overall weight of the motorcycle to a curb weight of just 199 kg.
Designed for the most demanding riders
Aprilia Tuareg Rally is equipped for the most challenging off-road conditions, thanks to heavy-duty spoked wheels with narrow Ergal rims and knobby tyres with inner tubes. The Kayaba suspension provides 240 mm of travel, the best among twin-cylinder bikes, and features linear constant-rate springs that enhance handling on rough terrain and reduce static sag, adding height to the bike.
SC Project exhaust
The Tuareg Rally sports a custom-designed SC Project exhaust with an all-titanium muffler, a racing-style rim and generous 60-mm outlet.
Reduced weight
A key feature is its further reduced weight, which enhances feel and balance. Courtesy of the specialised wheel set and titanium exhaust, the overall weight drops from the Aprilia Tuareg’s 204 kg to a curb weight of just 199 kg, resulting in improved agility and responsiveness.
Sports-style engine
The Euro 5+ parallel-twin engine is the same as that found on the Aprilia Tuareg. It features 52-mm throttle bodies that improve overall efficiency, while the new rare-earth generator reduces inertia, helping to enhance initial acceleration. Quick to rev and capable of an exhilarating top-end stretch, it also delivers improved responsiveness at all RPMs, thanks to a specific mapping for the Rally version.
New engine map
New engine mapping has been developed for the Aprilia Tuareg Rally, making the throttle response as quick and reactive as possible, allowing the rider to overcome obstacles more easily on the most challenging off-road sections.
High-performance suspension
The Tuareg Rally’s Kayaba fork and monoshock, with 240 mm of travel, use springs with a linear rather than progressive elastic spring-rate. This setup improves control on rough terrain and reduces static sag, increasing both the height and the actual travel of the suspension.
Heavy-duty wheel rims
The heavy-duty spoked rims with narrow ergal rims are designed to be lightweight and hardwearing. In combination with knobby tyres with inner tubes, they provide outstanding traction and stability on uneven terrain.
BECAUSE HAVING FUN IS A BIG DEAL
In an industry bound to the compromises of all-terrain riding, the Tuareg 660 charts a new course, offering benchmark performance in all conditions and authentic adventure equipment.
That’s the magic of the Aprilia 660 platform – lightweight, intelligent, complete and tremendously effective. Redesigned to give you maximum control on asphalt and dirt, whether sitting or standing, thanks to distinctive technical solutions that respond to your desire to explore.
THE SENSATION AWAITS
It’s up to you to experience it
Technical, essential, dynamic and proudly Italian, the Tuareg 660 doesn’t accept the bar set by others, but pushes you to take on new challenges and find the perfect trajectory on which to confront them, precisely where there is no grip.
Your reward? All the sensations and thrills sought from riding a motorcycle, in any context.
FUN AND SPORTY
From track to dirt: the 660 revolution continues
The Aprilia 660 platform has already rewritten the rules of the road and will now do the same for off-road riding.
The Tuareg 660 incorporates all the exceptional features that have made the RS 660 and Tuono 660 so successful, and offers them – in an original way – to every rider who dreams of a new, more exciting form of adventuring!
TUAREG MOVEMENT
Climb aboard and start your journey
Today, the concept of adventure has been lost and it’s now up to us to reinvent it, to create that magical feeling.
Whether your outdoor playground involves desert dunes, alpine trails or urban riding, you only need a helmet and a key to the Tuareg 660 to join the movement and start your journey.
Aprilia Tuareg Racing
Aprilia celebrates its triumphs on some of the world’s most extreme terrains, from the Italian Motorally Championships & TT Raid to the Baja Aragón, from the Hellas Rally Raid to the no-limits adventures of the Africa Eco Race. Every rally is a test of the riders’ courage, a celebration of the Tuareg’s winning versatility and the unwavering passion of the Aprilia Racing team.
An Aprilia Racing official rider Jacopo Cerutti, the star of this remarkable African triumph aboard the Italian twin-cylinder, also contributed to the development of the Aprilia Tuareg Rally. ‘It was fascinating to be involved in developing a production model like the new Tuareg Rally,’ commented the rider from Como. ‘The goal was to make it as similar as possible to the bike with which we won the Africa Eco Race, and I can say we succeeded! The Tuareg was already an excellent starting point for problem-free off-road riding, but with the Rally version, we’ve taken it a step further, coming very close to a full rally-raid bike. With the right tyres, it can easily take you over the desert dunes. My experience has been particularly useful in providing feedback on the electronics, leading to the creation of a new engine map that delivers quicker and more decisive throttle response, and in the chassis adjustments, with a fork that offers better support and a shock absorber that absorbs potholes at speed more effectively, improving the bike’s overall stability.’
A production motorbike with a racing soul
The distinctly off-road character of the Tuareg Rally is immediately evident, with its high mudguard and a new, thicker aluminium skid plate, designed with a more protective shape and a deliberately rugged finish for better mechanical impact resistance. Additional protections include sturdy hand guards with metal cores. A new chain guide also comes as standard, ensuring better safety even in the most extreme off-road conditions. To improve off-road control, special attention went to the rider’s ergonomics, with a seat that is 20 mm higher to make transitions between seated and standing positions easier and a taller handlebar with a redesigned shape for better handling.
The heavy-duty spoked wheels with Ergal narrow rims come with treaded tyres that use inner tubes, while the Kayaba suspension – offering an impressive 240 mm of travel – remains the same as the standard model but now features springs with a linear elastic constant K instead of a progressive one. Although this slightly compromises comfort, it significantly improves off-road riding feel and gives the rider greater control over rough terrain. The stiffer suspension also reduces static sag, making the Tuareg Rally taller and effectively increasing its actual suspension travel. The stand has a support foot with an enlarged surface, so the motorbike tilts less when parked. It also offers stable support even on rough or soft surfaces.
The Tuareg Rally (and the entire new Tuareg 2025 range) has its own specifically developed engine mapping to ensure quick and responsive throttle action. This allows the rider to overcome obstacles more easily with a twist of the throttle in the most challenging off-road sections – a crucial advantage in off-road riding.
The Tuareg Rally has a dedicated SC Project exhaust system, complete with a fully titanium silencer, and features an aggressive, racing-style end cap with a generous 60 mm outlet.
The wheel assembly and exhaust system contribute to reducing the Aprilia Tuareg Rally’s overall weight from 204 kg to 199 kg in running order.
The Aprilia Tuareg Rally comes in the unmistakable Rally race replica colour scheme, closely resembling the design of the victorious Tuareg that crossed the legendary Dakar finish line. Visually, the Tuareg Rally stands out with its sporty gold-anodised forks, wheel rims, and handlebars.
New look for the Tuareg 2025 range
The updates to the Aprilia Tuareg at EICMA 2024 are not limited to the debut of the Rally version; all models benefit from new styling and technical features introduced alongside compliance with Euro 5+ regulations.
To improve overall efficiency, the 660 twin-cylinder engine now boasts 52 mm throttle bodies, up from the previous 48 mm. In addition, the new rare-earth generator reduces inertia, enhancing acceleration performance.
While still retaining its distinctive appearance, including the iconic horizontally arranged triple headlamp, the Tuareg’s functional design has been revised, particularly around the headlamp cluster, which now features a sleeker superstructure without the lower lip. This design solution gives the front view a more dynamic and streamlined appearance towards the top.
The Aprilia Tuareg is also available in two new liveries, both featuring a red-painted frame. Tornado Green and Hailstorm White.
The extensive range of original accessories for the Aprilia Tuareg has been further augmented. Tuareg Rally-specific items, such as heavy-duty spoked wheels, a reinforced skid plate, and a chain guide, are now available as accessories for the standard Tuareg.
The extensive catalogue also includes a TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) sensor. The comfort seat – available in three different heights (standard, raised by 2 cm, and lowered by 2 cm) – now incorporates heating elements and can be easily controlled via the handlebar once the Aprilia MIA multimedia platform accessory is installed.
The successful partnership between Aprilia and Alpinestars, which began in 2024, has resulted in the creation of the Aprilia Experience adventure gear, designed to perfectly complement the Tuareg and support riders in all weather conditions and on any terrain. The outfit includes the Aprilia Experience Jacket and Pants. These two-layer garments feature a waterproof membrane and a removable thermal lining. The Aprilia Experience Gloves, made of leather and fabric with knuckle protection, are waterproof and provide excellent thermal insulation, completing the outfit.
For head protection, riders can choose between two types of off-road helmets: the new Aprilia Wheelie, made of thermoplastic resin with an adjustable visor, and the Aprilia Tuareg Helmet, with a carbon fibre shell and optimised air vents, for more demanding riders. Both helmets are compatible with the new Aprilia Wheelie Goggles off-road mask.
