After all, the enduro / off – road-tuned WR shares the same liquid-cooled, titanium-valved, 426cc four- stroke powerplant as the mind-blowing, standard-setting 2004 Yamaha YZ426F. And now the WR, like its YZ sibling, gets a handful of tweaks for 2002 to put it that much further ahead of its rivals. Beginning with freshly remapped ignition to ensure more precise spark — and power that’s quicker and harder-hitting than ever delivered through a wide-ratio, 5-speed transmission.
