
Nürburgring. The 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers were overshadowed by the tragic accident that claimed the life of Juha Miettinen. BMW M Motorsport mourns the loss of a member of the BMW racing family. Juha Miettinen was involved in a serious accident during Saturday’s race with a privately entered BMW 325i and succumbed to his injuries. The sporting events at the final preparatory event before the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring (GER) on 16th/17th May faded into the background.
The BMW M Motorsport teams ROWE Racing, Schubert Motorsport, and Gamota Racing competed in Sunday’s race with the BMW M4 GT3 EVO and the BMW M3 Touring 24H. The #99 BMW M4 GT3 EVO from ROWE Racing finished fifth overall, immediately followed by the #77 BMW M4 GT3 EVO from Schubert Motorsport and the #81 BMW M3 Touring 24H, which took first place in the SPX class. The #23 BMW M4 GT3 EVO from Gamota Racing finished in 13th position. All cars wore a mourning ribbon.
