SECOND PLACE FOR MARCO BEZZECCHI, JORGE MARTÍN THIRD
Aprilia Racing’s sprint race on the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli ended with both riders on the podium.

Marco Bezzecchi was the protagonist of the qualifiers, taking pole position and setting the new track record with a time of 1’29.982, the only rider on the grid to drop below 1’30. The Italian rider then rode a convincing sprint race, finishing second.

After starting from the fifth spot on the grid, Jorge Martín rode a brilliant sprint race, managing to move into third place by mid-race and maintaining the position to the end.

I’m satisfied because I gave everything I had. Marc Márquez did better, so there are really no regrets. All I can do is congratulate him and hope to make his life a bit more difficult tomorrow. In any case, I’m happy with what we did today, both in qualifying and in the sprint race.
I was unable to find the right feeling with the medium tyre for the sprint race. I would have been able to do better starting farther forward, but I heated the front tyre a lot behind Fabio Di Giannantonio. I’m happy with the result. We took a step forward compared with Friday.
A highly positive day, starting from pole position with the track record. We could have had other objectives, but this is fine for the championship. It’s a shame about Raúl, because he could also have been part of this group of Aprilia riders but unfortunately, we had some problems in qualifying and he started from behind. Overtaking is rather complicated in Misano, as we saw with our riders as well: except for Jorge, more or less all the others stayed in the same positions after the first lap. We are confident for Sunday. Marc is obviously hard to beat, but we’ll try with all our all.
