2022 Suzuki GSX-R125: A TRUE SPORTSBIKE.

Introducing the 2022 Suzuki GSX-R125…

GSX-R125, the best power-to-weight ratio, torque-to-weight ratio and acceleration, plus nimble handling and great fuel economy in the 125cc class.

Suzuki has pulled the covers off its Euro5 GSX-R and GSX-S125 machines, with the new learner-friendly models available in dealerships next summer.

In 2022 the GSX-R125 – which has become the weapon of choice in the Freetech 125 Endurance Championship having won the title two seasons in a row – is available in the signature MotoGP blue with the bold, white SUZUKI graphic adorning the fairing, as well as a black and grey take on the trademark design, offset by red wheels.

The GSX-S125, which uses the same DOHC, free-revving single-cylinder engine as its fully-faired sibling, comes in a blue, black and silver, as well as a more subtle black and grey. A more eye-catching white and black with red decals and red wheels completes the set.

Both machines use a compact LCD dash and get Suzuki’s easy-start system. The GSX-R125 also features a keyless ignition system.

NEW GSX-R ENGINE
There is a science to building high-performance engines and the GSX-R125’s DOHC engine is a perfect example of how to make a lot of power out of a very efficient and compact power plant. This power combines with strong torque and exceptional fuel economy, to create an engine worthy of the GSX-R marque.

THE FASTEST 125CC IN THE MCN GROUP TEST
Motorcycle News took six of the best sporty 125s for a two-day thrash to find the perfect L-plate thriller. The GSX-R125 topped MCN’s speed chart with a speedometer reading of 72.75mph and also topped their track day table making it the most fun 125cc bike to ride.

LIGHTWEIGHT CHASSIS
At 134kg ready to ride, the GSX-R125 is light and compact, giving ultimate control in the corners for a fun and sporty ride. Low weight is key, this helps deliver a bike with responsive and rewarding handling for added confidence on the street and low lap times on the track.

LIGHT ALUMINIUM WHEELS
Contributing to the bikes low weight are the 10 spoke cast aluminium wheels. Having light weight wheels helps ensure great handling, for a ride that’s fun and a machine that goes exactly where you want it to. The slim design of the spokes also adds to this GSX-R’s great sportsbike looks, along with the sporty petal type brake discs front and rear.

LIGHTWEIGHT ABS
The Anti-lock Brake System¹ (ABS) is the latest Bosch ABS 10 base unit, which is the lightest and most compact two-channel ABS system on the market. The pro-active system monitors wheel speed and immediately intervenes when imminent wheel lock is detected-before actual lock-up. The compact ABS system as installed on the GSX-R125 weighs just 0.59 kilograms.

ADVANCED RIDER TECHNOLOGY
The GSX-R125 features some of our most advanced rider technology, including our all new key-less ignition system, and Suzuki Easy Start System.

AERODYNAMIC BODYWORK
To make the best use of every ounce of power from the GSX-R125’s class leading engine, the bikes sporty bodywork is also extremely aerodynamically efficient to reduce drag and maximise efficient speed. This design is the result of extensive wind tunnel development, and the sleek bodywork also enhances the GSX-R125’s easy handling character. Furthermore, it also has the smallest projected frontal area in the 125cc class helping to achieve that best in class acceleration and supports high levels of fuel efficiency.

LED LIGHTING
Reflecting its GSX-R heritage, the GSX-R125 features vertically stacked LED headlights, with the low beam above the high beam, and position lights on each side of the headlight. The GSX-R125’s LED headlights are bright and compact, lighter and longer lasting compared to conventional halogen-bulb headlights seen on competing machines. Because LED headlights use about 15% of the electrical power required by conventional bulbs, less engine power is needed to run the motorcycle’s alternator, improving acceleration and fuel economy. The LED licence plate light on the rear fender is light and compact and much more durable and vibration resistant than the conventional bulb lights installed on competing 125cc machines.

LCD INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
The Suzuki GSX-R125 has a full LCD instrument panel set in a modern dashboard, framed by turn signal, neutral, high beam, coolant temperature, malfunction indicator lamp (MIL), ABS, and programmable engine-RPM indicator lights. The bright LCD panel includes a segmented-bar tachometer across the top; a digital speedometer; a gear position indicator; a digital clock; a digital odometer with dual trip meters; an average fuel consumption meter; a fuel gauge; and an oil change timing indicator.
