2024 BMW R1250RS: LONGER JOURNEYS WITH FEWER STOPS.
Introducing the 2024 BMW R1250RS…
The BMW R1250RS is a powerful sports touring bike. Characterized by its two-cylinder boxer engine with BMW ShiftCam technology, it visually embodies sporty dominance and unadulterated riding pleasure. Thanks to wind and weather protection, as well as the relaxed sitting position and assistance systems, you can enjoy every corner and every mile – whether alone or with a companion. Every punch of your boxer drives you forward – every single time. On every journey and every dynamic intermediate sprint. You demand more with confidence– and the bike delivers. Simply put: #NeverStopChallenging.
The efficient Eco ride mode is now added to the Rain and Road ride modes as standard. This gives you the choice between efficient riding and the usual dynamic sportiness. The status display in the 6.5″ TFT display shows you the selected setting. And the new optional Pro riding modes with Dynamic and Dynamic Pro provide more performance on your tour.
For more than 40 years, the legendary BMW Motorrad abbreviation “RS” has been synonymous with BMW Boxer-powered sport touring, whether on windy country roads or on long-distance tours. The BMW RS is a master of sporty riding, leaning into turns as well as long distance riding for two with luggage. To ensure that this remains the case in the future, BMW Motorrad has given the R1250RS some new standard features and optional extras – to make the sports-touring Boxer not only a better value but more dynamic and more comfortable as well.
As before, the legendary 2-cylinder boxer engine provides powerful propulsion. It still has an engine capacity of 1,254 cc and, even in the current EU5 emissions version, generates 136 hp and 105 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to BMW ShiftCam technology for varying valve timing and valve lift on the intake side, it delivers power across the entire engine speed range, is extremely smooth and quiet running and features outstanding fuel economy and emissions.
With its powerful boxer drive with BMW ShiftCam technology, the BMW R1250RS stands for dynamic sports touring and dominance over every mile.

Intelligent Emergency Call is available as standard or as an option for the following models and series in the USA and Canada for model year 2024: F 900 R and XR (optional) K 1600x (standard), R 1250x (standard), R 18 B and Transcontinental (standard), S 1000 R / RR (standard), CE 04 (standard). Intelligent Emergency Call adds a covered SOS button, loudspeaker and microphone to the right-side handlebar controls.
The eCall system uses BMW Motorrad Connected Services which can be activated during new vehicle delivery to the customer. When pressed, the SOS button connects the rider to an agent who can be advised verbally of the general situation, of the level of injury, if one exists and who can contact emergency services, if required. If a motorcycle fall or crash is detected, an eCall is automatically placed.
For model year 2024, all new BMW M motorcycles include the 600-mile Ultimate Care Break-In Service. The BMW Ultimate Care service programs were launched in 2021.
