2024 Honda Grom: UNDISPUTED EMPEROR OF miniMOTO’s.

Introducing the 2024 Honda Grom…

GO GROM!
You know that old saying about good things coming in small packages—well when you’re talking about a Honda Grom it’s never been more true. Except, you better make that great things. Awesome things. Über-cool things. Because the Grom is such a blast to ride just about everywhere you need to go. And this year it’s better than ever, because we have three trims to choose from: the standard Grom, the Grom ABS with front-wheel anti-lock brakes, and the Grom SP, with a unique graphics treatment. And every Grom features plug-and-play body panels that are easy to remove if you want to add some custom graphics of your own—it’s like a blank canvas that you can ride. So get out and enjoy the ride—once you go Grom, there’s no going back.

GET THE PARTY STARTED
Since 2013, our MSX Grom (Mini Street X-Treme) has been transport of choice for a whole new generation of young riders around the world. It’s easy to see why; individual looks, compact dimensions and full-sized motorcycle-specification, suspension and brakes. Add a peppy 125cc engine, and it’s the perfect partner for busy urban life. And now, there’s a new MSX Grom on the block, with extra power, an extra gear, and even more style.

It’s hard to believe that Honda’s little Grom is already 10 years old. In the model’s first decade, it has already spawned a vibrant subculture of fun-seekers—from new riders attracted to its low seat height and unintimidating approachability, to experienced enthusiasts who like its modular styling and peppy performance. In both cases, the Grom often serves as a customization platform for those looking for an amusing project, which has helped to establish the Grom as one of the powersports industry’s most popular motorcycle models—and the undisputed emperor of the miniMOTO world.

SMALL AND EVEN MORE PERFECTLY FORMED
The MSX Grom is a little bike that thinks big. Its new, 125cc engine makes more power and, thanks to PGM-FI fuel injection and EURO5 compliance, is clean and fuel efficient. An extra gear means you now have five speeds to choose from, making longer rides easy. Funkily refreshed (and easily-removed) bodywork is great as is – or ripe for customisation. And, just like its big brothers, the MSX Grom’s digital dash now has a rev-counter and gear position indicator.

Funky fresh style
There’s a new-found sense of playfulness about the minimal bodywork, and distinct, contemporary individuality. And, led by owners’ desire to make their bike unique, the MSX Grom is designed around the concept of adaptability and easy customisation – all of the panels attach with just three bolts each, a detail highlighted in vivid fluorescent green.

LCD digital dash and glimmering LED headlight
The sleek LED headlight carves out a unique light signature. Easy to read for its compact size, the LCD digital dash has been redesigned to include a rev-counter and gear position indicator, alongside the speedometer, twin trip meters, fuel gauge and clock.

New engine with 5-speed gearbox
The new, 125cc air-cooled, two-valve engine packs a perfect blend of punchy roll-on performance with useful, all-round usability. It makes 7.2kW peak power but, as always, is all about the fun of twisting a throttle. Another upgrade that riders will appreciate is a 5-speed gearbox, to spread the ratios further and top speed goes from 92km/h to 95km/h. Manual clutch operation imparts a full-sized motorcycle experience.

12-inch cast aluminium wheels
Fundamental to form and function are the newly re-styled 5-spoke, 12-inch diameter cast aluminium wheels. Front 120/70-12 and rear 130/70-12 tyres also inject dynamic looks and performance; hydraulic two-piston front and single-piston rear brake calipers work 220mm and 190mm discs.

High quality suspension
The 31mm Up Side Down (USD) forks reduce unsprung weight and, thanks to the pistons’ greater pressure-bearing area (compared to standard telescopic forks) offer improved damping feel throughout the stroke. Both top and bottom yokes are full-sized, further enhancing handling and feel, while a lightweight and robust single rear shock operates a simple and tough, H-shape, steel box-section swingarm.

Low seat height
This is a great bike for everybody. The MSX Grom’s low, 761mm seat height ensures it’s easy to ride and manage at low speed, while its small size make for an easy load – meaning it’s the paddock bike of choice for race teams (and motor home drivers) the world over.

Sturdy chassis
A steel mono-backbone frame ensures core strength, and also provides easy handling for new riders, plus an enjoyable ride for those more experienced. Its rigid, square-section tube joins the headstock directly to the swingarm pivot plates, and every other part in effect hangs visibly from the frame, building the minimalist look.

HISTORY
Since its 2014 model-year introduction, the Grom has always been about enjoyment, serving as an inspiration and focal point for riding clubs and social-media groups, while also supporting a healthy aftermarket of accessory and performance parts. Eliciting laughs from those who ride it, thumbs-ups from fellow motorists and traffic-light smiles from pedestrians, the Grom is also a motorcycling evangelist, spreading positive powersports vibes wherever it goes. For the 2017 model year, the model underwent a comprehensive redesign for a sharper, more aggressive look.

The Grom’s current iteration (introduced for the 2022 model year) features striking bodywork that facilitates customization, plus a peppy engine with a fifth gear. As always, the model boasts amazing gas mileage, low operating and maintenance costs, attention to detail and Honda’s legendary reliability.

Importantly, the Grom’s success has also served as the springboard for a trio of retro-themed miniMOTO siblings: the Monkey and Super Cub in model-year 2019 and the Trail125 for model-year 2021.

PERFORMANCE

124cc FUEL-INJECTED ENGINE

Nobody can match our reputation for engines, and even though the Grom may be compact, it’s a giant in terms of performance and reliability.

COMFORT

LOW SEAT HEIGHT

At just 30 inches the Grom makes it easy to flat-foot it in parking lots or at stop lights. Plus, the seat features thick padding so it’s comfortable, especially for taller riders.

ENGINEERING

HYDRAULIC DISC BRAKES

The Grom features 220mm front and 190mm rear single disc brakes for excellent stopping power.

STYLE

UNIQUE BODYWORK

Part of the fun of owning and riding a Grom is the way it looks. Plus, its unique bodywork is easy to remove if you want to customize it even further. In addition, the engine, exhaust, wheels and swingarm are all blacked out for an edgy look.

ACCESSORY GRAPHICS KITS

A Grom is all about self expression and freedom of choice. And a great way to embrace both is with one of our Honda Accessories graphics kits. They make personalizing your Grom fun and easy!

LED HEADLIGHT

The Grom’s LED projector-style headlight not only looks great and is a major styling element, but it also provides excellent illumination.

FIVE-SPEED TRANSMISSION

The Grom features a five-speed transmission. You still get all the durability, control and efficiency of a conventional motorcycle, but the five gears help increase top speed for highway cruising.

LED TAILLIGHT

Forget about big, bulky taillights—the Grom’s LED lamp is bright and clear.

MULTI-FUNCTION DIGITAL INSTRUMENT DISPLAY

The instrument display features speedometer, odometer, tachometer, gear position indicator, A&B trip meters, fuel gauge, clock, and indicator for low/high beam.

OPTIONAL ABS

Our Honda Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) is available on the Grom, which helps you make confident stops under less-than-ideal conditions.

HANDLING

12-INCH CAST WHEELS

Tough and strong, these cast wheels and wide tires are just what the urban rider needs.

INVERTED FORK SUSPENSION

Just like a top-of-the-line sportbike, the Grom features an inverted hydraulic fork front suspension for control and road feel.

SINGLE REAR SHOCK

Thanks to the Grom’s single hydraulic rear shock, you get a plush ride, even over choppy pavement.

2024 Honda Grom Totalmotorcycle.com Features and Benefits

DESIGN / STYLING
Currently in its third iteration, the Grom sports pared-down styling with straight lines, a small subframe and thick seat padding (seat height is a low 30 inches). Best of all, the four main body panels quickly attach/detach, facilitating customization—a hallmark of Grom culture that is welcomed by customers eager to personalize their rides. The Grom’s minimalist aesthetic is enhanced by its blacked-out engine, exhaust, wheels and swingarm.

Practical features include an ample fuel capacity of 1.59 gallons, and the LCD digital dash has a gear-position indicator, alongside the speedometer, tachometer, twin trip meters, fuel gauge and clock.

ENGINE / DRIVETRAIN
The Grom’s appeal is more than skin deep. The engine is a modern design that includes a fifth gear for comfortable cruising. The gear ratios provide not only peppy acceleration from low speeds, but good top speed as well.

The 125cc two-valve, overhead-cam, air-cooled engine has a compression ratio of 10:1. This is achieved via an undersquare design, with a narrow bore and long stroke—specifically 50.0mm and 63.1mm, respectively.

State-of-the-art PGM-FI fuel injection assures optimal fuel delivery and highly efficient combustion. A large, 2.5-liter airbox houses a panel-type, wet-paper filter with a 10,000-mile life in normal riding conditions. Many Grom owners prefer to do their own maintenance, so the replaceable oil filter is a welcome feature.

Do-it-yourselfers also appreciate the exhaust downpipe and muffler, which are two separate parts to simplify replacement.

CHASSIS / SUSPENSION
The suspension comprises a 31mm inverted fork and a single shock. The brakes feature a dual-piston front caliper with 220mm disc, and a single-piston rear caliper with 190mm disc. Wheels are a 12-inch cast design—a signature feature of the Grom—with a five-spoke pattern.

Of special note, the available ABS system operates through an IMU (inertial measurement unit) that gives precise front-to-rear distribution of braking operation, depending on vehicle behavior.

Transferable one-year limited warranty; extended coverage available with a HondaCare Protection Plan

  • Meets current EPA and CARB standards
