Introducing the 2024 Kawasaki KX450X…
The new KX450X motorcycle continues its evolution by carrying over the strengths of the previous model with several updates to the engine, chassis and rider interface to help its riders reach the top step of the podium.
Returning along with the KX450 for 2024 is the all-new KX450X receiving all the same new features, but with added off-road settings to further expand and solidify the KX family of off-road motorcycles. With the strength and power of the all-new KX450 behind it, the KX450X makes every off-road adventure exciting and fun. Additional new features exclusive to the KX450X include Dunlop AT81 front and rear tires, optimized engine tuning and optimized suspension settings.

For the last five decades, the Kawasaki KX lineup has helped paved the path to championships for the motocross heroes of today. The KX family remains one of the most dominant motocross and supercross brand of motorcycles available today, with the KX450 continuing to be one of the leading motocross bikes in its class. With development cues taken from the Monster Energy Kawasaki factory racing team, the all-new KX450 is one of the strongest off-road machines on the track. All-new features for 2024 include a new cylinder head, lightweight aluminum frame, center exhaust, and Kawasaki KX first-time features include ODI Lock-On grips, Brembo brakes, Kawasaki TRaction Control (KTRC), riding modes with handlebar mounted switch box, and Bluetooth connectivity using RIDEOLOGY THE APP.

That successful base is paired with unique cross-country tuning, softer suspension settings and shorter gear ratios that help create the optimal handling package for the race-ready off-road KX lineup.

KX ENGINE PERFORMANCE
POWER AHEAD
The same championship-proven engine performance found in KX motocross bikes is what propels the KX450X motorcycle. This updated 449cc 4-stroke fuel-injected engine delivers the type of hard-hitting power and a flat torque curve that encourages quick acceleration. Engine maps are optimized for cross-country racing and are now tunable, using the new RIDEOLOGY THE APP KX on your smartphone, to change power delivery to best suit riding conditions and personal preference. New handlebar-mounted Kawasaki TRaction Control (KTRC) and power modes buttons offer on-the-fly adjustments for ever-changing off-road conditions. Electric start makes starting the engine as easy as a push of a button. A coned disc-spring hydraulic clutch offers a direct feel, light lever action, and consistent performance.
KX CHASSIS PERFORMANCE
GAIN FULL CONTROL
Light and nimble handling is achieved thanks to the lean, lightweight chassis of the legendary KX450 motocross bike. The new aluminum perimeter frame is lighter and features optimized rigidity balance for light nimble handling and increased front-end feel. The muffler has been repositioned for improved mass centralization resulting in lighter handling. The high-performance, race-ready suspension has been optimized for cross-country racing, especially on aggressive trails. New drilled Braking/Sunstar discs (270/240mm) paired with a Brembo caliper and master cylinder at the front and a Nissin caliper and master cylinder at the rear deliver strong stopping power and a high level of control.
CROSS-COUNTRY CAPABILITY
TAKE ON TOUGH TRAILS
The KX450X motorcycle is built to meet the tough demands of cross-country racing. Cross-country wheels (F21″/R18″) are paired with specific Dunlop Geomax AT81 tires developed for GNCC racing. A convenient side stand comes as standard equipment and a new quick-release side cover offers tool-less air filter access for quick and easy service.
ERGO-FIT ERGONOMICS
GET THE PERFECT FIT
Slim ergonomics stem from a narrow frame and minimalist bodywork. New shrouds, side covers, and rear fender are firmer and eliminate hooking points, further facilitating rider movement. New ODI lock-on grips add enhanced grip feel and ease of installation. To help facilitate the perfect fit, the KX450X motorcycle features ERGO-FIT adjustability. Four handlebar positions and two footpeg positions allow you to tailor the KX450X to your body size, riding style, and preference.

Stronger Engine Performance
• Redesigned intake tract provides a much straighter path for the fuel mixture to enter the cylinder.
• New center-port exhaust lines up with the intake ports for high airflow efficiency.
• Straighter airflow through the engine helps boost performance.
Easily-Selectable Power Modes
• New handlebar-mounted controller eliminates the need to change ignition couplers to alter power delivery for track conditions and rider preference.
• Two engine map options, normal and mild response, are programmed into the ECU.
Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) System
• Also on the handlebar controller is a Traction button that allows riders to quickly and easily choose between Weak and Strong levels of traction control to suit track conditions and rider preference. Riders can choose to turn the system off.
Smartphone Connectivity
• Using the smartphone app “RIDEOLOGY THE APP KX” riders are now able to access and adjust engine maps using their smartphones instead of having to purchase the accessory KX FI Calibration Kit. Functionality is similar to the Calibration Kit and maintenance logs are also available.
Improved Handling
• Redesigned lightweight aluminum perimeter frame not only accommodates the updated intake tract and center port exhaust, but the optimized rigidity balance contributes to increased front-end feel for improved cornering performance in a wider range of conditions. The chassis still delivers a high level of light, nimble handling and a composed handling character.
Improved Ergonomics
• With its highly-acclaimed slim ergonomics, the KX450’s redesigned bodywork offers an even smoother rider interface. New shrouds, side covers and rear fender are firmer and designed to eliminate hooking points with the rider’s boots and knees for easier movement.
• New quick-release side cover can be removed without tools for easier air filter maintenance.
• Now equipped with medium-compound ODI Lock-On grips for increased comfort, excellent feel, and the screw-type fastening system greatly simplifies changing grips.
Improved Brake Performance
• New drilled 270mm Braking brand front disc is now paired with a Brembo caliper and master cylinder, while the rear disc is now a drilled Sunstar 240mm disc with Nissin caliper. The high-performance combination helps provide increased feel and controllability on the brakes for enhanced corner entry.
