2024 KTM 250 XC: CROSS COUNTRY LEGEND.

Introducing the 2024 KTM 250 XC…

For decades, the 250 cc 2-stroke cross country class has been at the forefront of pure unadulterated performance. It is epitomized by sweet-smelling 2-Stroke smoke, top-end powerbands and rocketship-like acceleration. The 2024 KTM 250 XC continues that trend thanks to a container-load of cutting-edge advancements across the board, like an all-new closed cartridge spring fork and cross country specific suspension settings, steps this 2-Stroke legend up, and even further out of reach of the competition.

The 2024 KTM XC and XC-F range enter the cross-country battle zone like seasoned veterans. With countless podiums and championships under the belt, the KTM XC range lines up with unmatched READY TO RACE credentials. For 2024, it brings new weaponry to the front, with an all-new fork package aimed at delivering the goods.

UNMATCHED 2-STROKE PERFORMANCE

Fuel-injected and furious, the 2024 KTM XC range of 2-stroke machinery sets the bar. From the energetic and wildly agile KTM 125 XC to the screaming banshee KTM 300 XC, these oil-burning weapons are set to dominate the world of cross-country racing.

ENGINEERED FOR SPEED
The entire 2024 KTM XC and XC-F range benefits from an all-new WP XACT Closed Cartridge fork upfront, with a bulletproof WP XACT shock at the rear.

The 48 mm WP XACT Closed Cartridge fork provides faster and more consistent damping characteristics, while the fork protection rings have been updated to provide increased protection against dirt intrusion. A new hydro stop in the last 68 mmm of the stroke also ensures plenty of “give” left in reserve when hitting the tough stuff.

On the rear, the WP XACT rear shock provides advanced damping characteristics for unsurpassed traction and energy absorption. It also features less overall length and less weight compared to the previous generation while keeping the suspension travel unchanged with 300 mm.

Both ends are also easily adjustable by way of hand clickers, making setup in the pits as easy as CLICK, CLICK, CLICK.

2024 KTM 250 XC Totalmotorcycle.com Key Features

THE 2024 KTM XC RANGE IS FOCUSED ON ONE GOAL – WINNING!

The KTM XC and XC-F range enters the 2024 model year with a line-up of READY TO RACE machines representing the ultimate in Cross Country excellence, complete with all-new suspension.

With almost a decade’s worth of back-to-back championships, KTM is no stranger to winning premier cross-country racing titles. For 2024, the KTM XC and XC-F range is set to continue that trend with a line-up of precision machines built to deliver trophies.

At the top of the range, the KTM 450 XC-F dominates the 4-stroke stable, with the equally impressive KTM 350 XC-F and KTM 250 XC-F rounding off the line-up. These are flanked by three 2-stroke models, namely the KTM 125 XC, KTM 250 XC, and the new open-class contender, the KTM 300 XC.

All 2024 XC and XC-F models benefit from Electronic Fuel Injection, along with a map select switch as standard, while the 4-stroke XC-F range gets additional Traction Control, Launch Control, and Quickshifter features.

The biggest improvement to the 2024 KTM XC and XC-F range comes by way of the suspension.

Upfront, an all-new WP XACT Closed Cartridge fork provides faster and more consistent damping characteristics, thanks to a new mid-valve piston concept that optimizes the oil flow within the cartridge. This setup avoids unwanted foaming of oil which can lead to an unwanted change of damping characteristics and less consistent damping behavior.

This is further improved with a new hydro stop in the last 68 mm of the stroke which aids in maintaining maximum reserves in extreme riding situations. Revised fork protection rings also provide increased protection against dirt intrusion for improved reliability. The new WP XACT Closed Cartridge fork retains its 48 mm of diameter, while the total length is now 940 mm, and the total stroke has now 300mm travel.

On the rear, the WP XACT rear shock provides advanced damping characteristics for unsurpassed traction and energy absorption. It also features less overall length and less weight compared to the previous generation while keeping the suspension travel unchanged with 300 mm.

From an adjustability standpoint, both ends feature easy-to-use hand clickers that allow riders to change settings on the fly without needing any special tools.

The 2024 KTM cross-country range of motorcycles is a confidence-inspiring line-up catering to riders at any level. With dramatically improved handling characteristics, easy suspension adjustment, and the very latest in dirt bike technology, the 2024 KTM XC and XC-F range sets the standard when it comes to competitive cross-country racing.

The all-new 2024 KTM XC and XC-F range will be available at authorized KTM dealers from April 2023 onwards.

Absolute Control

No matter how gnarly the trail is, you’ll stay in control thanks to a rider-focussed frame design that has not only been engineered for longitudinal rigidity, but also repositions rotating mass closer to the center of gravity. Thick frame walls also improve reliability, flex characteristics and offer unmatched rider feel. The shock mounting also provides the perfect amount of anti-squat for better traction out of corners, while the footpeg mounting is positoned in such a way to reduce the risk of hooking up on roots or rocks. Additionally, forged brackets on the lower frame rails allow for easy removal and installation of the standard skid plate.

Ergonomics

The 2024 KTM XC and XC-F range features a specially-developed rider triangle, providing unmatched knee contact and gripping surfaces – especially when standing on the pegs. While the plastics work to expel mud buildup in wet, muddy conditions, the flat seat profile and high-grip orange seat cover providing exceptional rider movement and control. A handy grip pocket under the seat, just above the airbox, makes gripping the bike and lifting it much easier.

UNMATCHED PERFORMANCE

Go the distance

A 2.37 gallon polythene fuel tank incorporates a threaded filler cap and an integrated fuel pump. The fuel pump features an external fuel line which is specifically positioned to make it less exposed and susceptible to damage, while ensuring a steady, uninterrupted flow of fuel.

HARNESSING GRAVITY

Mass Centralization

Ready to rip your arms out of the sockets? Together with the benefits of mass centralization and the anti-squat behavior of the chassis, the 2024 KTM 250 XC gets its power down perfectly when tearing out of corners.

UNFLAPPABLE FRONT END

WP XACT Fork

An all-new WP XACT Close Cartridge spring fork finds its way into the KTM XC and XC-F line-up for 2024. A new mid-valve piston concept optimizes the oil flow within the cartridge, providing fast and consistent damping characteristics. This also avoids unwanted foaming of oil which can lead to the unwanted changes in damping characteristics and less consistent damping behavior. The fork is also fully adjustable in rebound and compression, thanks to hand adjustable clickers on the bottom of the fork shoe and fork top cap.

ALL-OUT TRACTION

WP XACT Shock

Receiving an all-new design in 2023, the rear shock features less overall length and less weight compared to the previous generation but retains its 300 mm travel. A CFD-optimized main piston improves initial comfort, while finding the ideal settings is taken care of by a hand-adjustable dual compression control that allows for high- and low-speed adjustments. For 2024, updated suspension settings mean riders benefit form improved balance, comfort, and cornering agility.

Maintaining Momentum

UNOBTRUSIVE IMPACT

Ultimate rigidity

A hollow, die-cast aluminum swingarm is designed to offer optimal stiffness and reliability at the lowest possible weight. A 22 mm rear axle is also fitted to match the flex characteristics of the chassis. This, along with the chain guard and chain gliders result in improved durability and less chance of hooking on boots or external objects out on the trail, as well as reducing dirt build up around the swingarm and chain guard.

NOTHING TO HOLD YOU BACK

Ground clearance

CFD designed footrests offer a bigger contact area for better control of the bike while standing on the pegs, but also makes them less susceptible to hooking up on deep trail ruts, logs and rocks . This was achieved by a narrow frame mounting design, which also helps reduce overall weight.

FLAT OUT TO THE FINISH

Consistency

A 66.4 mm bore, highly innovative electronic exhaust port management, and a machined finish for accurate port timing means the cylinder on the KTM 250 XC does more than just house the piston. It results in much-improved rideability, engine control, and more adjustability of the engine characteristics, thanks to 2 selectable and distinguished engine maps. Also, it’s auto-calibrating, meaning there’s no more hassle with wrong power valve adjustments.
