Yamaha launched the YZ-line 50 years ago and won its first World Motocross Championship back in 1973. To celebrate this half-century of continuous YZ production the exclusive YZ450F 50th Anniversary Edition has been created. Equipped with the same class-leading engine and chassis technology that has powered our factory riders to numerous MXGP and SX race wins, this limited edition pays tribute to this special moment in the history of Yamaha.
It’s the lightest, slimmest, sharpest and fastest 450cc motocross bike ever built by Yamaha – and its high-tech design is the result of 50 years of racing and winning at the very highest level. The reverse-head engine ensures super-efficient combustion for increased performance, and the latest Power Tuner App makes is easy to select the best engine mapping.
The mass centralized design enables the lightweight chassis to deliver ultimate agility – while the best-in-class KYB suspension ensures that you can lay down the power efficiently and effectively. The YZ450F was completely redesigned for the 2023 model year, and the latest generation bike’s race results immediately showed that this unique reverse-head 450cc 4-stroke has the engine and chassis performance to take on and beat the world’s leading riders and brands.
Also in racing, the YZ450F has been a consistent contender, with Jeremy Seewer and Maxime Renaux taking their Monster Energy Yamaha Factory bikes to overall MXGP victories and podiums. Supported by Glenn Coldenhoff’s strong performances, the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory team is in contention for the 2023 MXGP Manufacturer’s Title. And in the USA, Eli Tomac’s winning record on his Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing YZ450F was only ended by an unfortunate injury after dominating the series.

Adjustable Traction Control & Launch Control
The Traction Control System communicates wheel slip to the ECU, tuning the engine to maintain ideal rear wheel traction. Three levels can be selected: HIGH, LOW or OFF. The Launch Control System continues to implement traction control and features an rpm limiting setting, which can be adjusted in 500 rpm increments between 6,000 rpm and 11,000 rpm. Both systems are controlled through the Yamaha Power Tuner App.

Triple Clamp with Adjustable Handlebar Mounts
The top triple clamp design balances rigidity for improved steering feel while the four-position adjustable handlebar clamp is rubber-mounted for comfort, reduced handlebar vibration and easily tunable bar position.

Compact Five-Speed Transmission
Tri-shaft transmission layout vertically stacks the transmission shafts, raising the center shaft and forming a triangle between the crank, drive shaft and main shaft for a lighter, more compact transmission.

An advanced disc spring clutch design integrates primary gear and basket into a single steel unit. The free-of-charge Yamaha Power Tuner App brings the power of the GYTR® Power Tuner to your iOS® or Android® device. Using wireless connectivity to talk to the bike’s onboard CAN-bus network, the app allows owners to adjust air/fuel mixture and ignition timing to tune engine performance for track conditions, record race log information and monitor a range of data such as maintenance and system diagnosis, engine run time and more. Optimized Air Intake
