BEZZECCHI FOURTH, JORGE MARTÍN FIFTH. FERNÁNDEZ WINS AHEAD OF OGURA
Aprilia Racing secured a solid result in the sprint at the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. Starting from third on the grid, Marco Bezzecchi dropped a couple of positions at the start but recovered them during the sprint to finish fourth.

Jorge Martín claimed his first pole position with Aprilia Racing, his 21st in the top class and 42nd in all classes. This result places him 12th on the all-time list of top-class pole positions in the modern era. His previous pole came 616 days ago at Phillip Island in 2024. The Spanish rider then battled hard throughout the sprint to finish fifth.

Aprilia Racing achieved a historic qualifying result, locking out the top four positions on the starting grid for the first time, with Martín ahead of Ogura, Bezzecchi and Fernández. It was also Aprilia Racing’s first pole in Assen, its eighteenth in the top-class and its fourth of the season, secured by three different riders (Bezzecchi, Ogura and Martín).

Special mention goes to the SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team riders, who secured an outstanding one-two in the sprint, with Raúl Fernández in first and Ai Ogura in second.

I’m only 50% satisfied, because, of course, I always want to do a little better. Unfortunately, I struggled, lost a couple of positions straight away and wasn’t as competitive as I’d have liked in the opening laps. Then, lap after lap, my pace improved and I managed to make up some ground. All in all, I think it was a positive day: a good qualifying session, which is always important ahead of Sunday, and a sprint in which I wasn’t at my best, but I still gave everything I had.
I am delighted with the pole position and proud to have taken it after so long. I made a decent start, but then I lost rear grip, and things became tricky, especially in the closing laps. I wasn’t that far behind my rivals in terms of pace, although Marco looked slightly stronger. I gave it everything but still enjoyed myself. We’re improving, which is the most important thing, and taking pole was a big step forward.
It was a very positive day for the entire project. Qualifying was excellent, with a historic result for us. We are delighted for the SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team, which secured its first historic one-two finish. We also delivered a strong performance, placing four bikes in the top five – an extremely positive result overall. Looking at the championship, though, the Factory Team needs to deliver more consistently if we are to keep scoring important points. We still have the main race ahead of us, and we are confident.
