Pole positions for Guevara in Moto2 and Ogden in Moto3 at Silverstone

· Guevara’s third pole position. At the 2026 British Grand Prix, currently taking place at Silverstone, Spanish rider Izan Guevara (Boscoscuro) claimed the third pole position of his Moto2™ career. With a time of 2’01.483, he secured pole and set the new all-time lap record, improving Manuel Gonzalez’s last year time  (2’02.111) by more than six tenths. Completing the all-Kalex front row were Alonso Lopez, second, and Iván Ortolá, third. In qualifying, all riders opted for soft compounds, with the SC1 front and SC0 rear tyre combo.

· Ogden’s home pole in Moto3™. Twenty-two-year-old British rider Scott Ogden (KTM) claimed his first pole position of the season and the second of his career in Moto3™, stopping the clock at 2’09.126 and missing the lap record by just 22 thousandths. He will start alongside team-mate Adrian Cruces and Valentin Perrone completing an all-KTM front row. The three riders achieved their results using different tyre configurations: Ogden with soft SC1 compounds on both front and rear, Cruces with medium SC2 on both axles, and Perrone with a medium SC2 front and soft SC1 rear combination.

· Moderate temperatures. Over the first two days of the weekend, temperatures have remained relatively mild, with the morning sessions (FP1 and FP2) typically cooler than the afternoon sessions (Practice and Qualifying). Air temperature never exceeded 26°C, while track temperature reached 45°C.

“The choice of compounds for this In Moto2™Grand Prix was clear since Friday morning, with all riders going for the soft SC1 front and SC0 rear combo in FP1, and then keeping it for all subsequent sessions. The data collected confirms that these solutions are effective both over a single lap and in terms of consistency, so we expect them to be the main choices in the race as well, as was already the case in the last two Silverstone editions.
Particularly significant is the result achieved by the standard SC0 rear, which, after making its debut at this circuit in 2025 as the E0125 development specification, contributed to this year’s new all-time Moto2™ lap record set by Guevara, more than six tenths faster than the previous record achieved last year by Gonzalez.
In Moto3™, the picture is more open and all compounds could potentially be used, as proven by the riders’ choices in qualifying. Ogden came very close to the lap record in qualifying with soft SC1 both front and rear, although the medium SC2 has proved to be the most balanced solution in terms of wear, and we believe it will be the most popular choice on the grid tomorrow.
So far, temperatures have remained relatively mild, and even though they are expected to be slightly hotter tomorrow, we do not expect any significant impact on the tyre’s behaviour or performance”.
