SBS Racing Brake Pads winning in Daytona

Not only speed, but also the right brake performance can make a big difference when winning a race.

This weekend both Daytona 200 and Daytona TT Flat Track races were won using SBS racing brake pads.

Kyle Wyman won the Daytona 200 riding a Yamaha R6 equipped with 634DS-1 Dual Sinter brake pads. Kyle showed tremendous speed during the 57 lap race on the high banks of Daytona International Speedway, and the crew performed flawless pit stops earning Wyman the coveted Rolex watch and can now call himself a Daytona 200 Champion.

Briar Bauman from and the Indian factory team won the Daytona TT Flat Track using brake pads SBS 841-DC Dual Carbon at front, and SBS730-RQ Carbon Tech rear brake pads.

Briar said after the race “The front brake felt exactly the same at the first and last round lap– no fade problems at all”

Chris Jensen, SBS North American Brand Manager said; “SBS has worked with Kyle Wyman and his KWR race team in MotoAmerica for a few years, so it is a great pleasure to help him attain this goal of a Daytona 200 win. He used one set of DS-1 pads all weekend, and the pads looked like they were ready to do it again” Chris continues, “Similarly with Briar Bauman in AFT – we started working with him on the Zanotti team, and are happy to provide stopping power as he moved on to the factory Indian race team. The DC compound pads and their superior feel, are perfect for the unique challenges of stopping the fast 750 cc machine in the dirt.”

Besides these winners, top riders in the Daytona 200 like Geoff May, Josh Hayes, Cory West, Brandon Paasch, and Tyler O`Hara also chose SBS brake pads.

This weekend really cemented SBS Brakes as the number one in racing brake pads as SBS riders also won 15 CCS and ASRA sprint races.

The pads used in Daytona are strictly for race use only, but SBS also provides a full range of brake pads for street bikes, adventure bikes, off-roaders, Harleys, ATV/UTV and scooters.
