Strang Claims a Top-Five Finish, Walker Stays in Championship Hunt

At Round 7 of the 2026 GNCC Series at Powerline Park, Josh Strang delivered a characteristically gritty performance in a wildly unpredictable and physically taxing race. Navigating a deceivingly technical Ohio course that took a heavy toll on the field, Strang maintained a consistent, veteran pace among the premier class frontrunners. He ultimately crossed the finish line with a total time of 3:14:29, earning a solid fifth place in class and sixth-place overall finish. In the highly competitive XC2 division, Jhak Walker demonstrated tremendous early pace aboard his Liqui Moly Beta machine. Walker quickly asserted himself at the front of the pack, seizing control of the class during the opening laps and holding off heavy pressure from the rest of the field. Unfortunately, a crash in the woods saw him lose significant time, shuffling him out of the lead pack and off the podium by the time the checkered flag flew. Walker finds himself very much in the season-long championship race after seven rounds.

“The track out there today was incredibly technical and really beat you up as the race went on, especially with the heat. We kept it steady and grabbed a solid sixth overall, but the goal is always to be up there battling for the podium. We’ll take the points, make a few adjustments to find a bit more sprint speed, and come out swinging at the next round.”

Factory 250 RR

“I felt fantastic off the line and had a great rhythm controlling the pace early on,. Unfortunately, one mistake in this class is all it takes to lose your advantage. It’s frustrating because we definitely had the speed to win today, but I’m taking the positives from how well the bike handled in those early laps and bringing that same intensity to the next one.”
