2018 marks the 40th anniversary of the most successful partnership in road racing history. Starting back in 1978, Hideo “Pops” Yoshimura tuned a Suzuki GS1000 that was piloted by Steve McLaughlin to victory circle at the Daytona Superbike race. From that day on, Suzuki and Yoshimura have forged an iconic relationship by combining Suzuki’s dependable performance with Yoshimura’s innovative tuning techniques. The results have created a powerhouse program that has resulted in 14 AMA Superbike Championships.
After a dominating 2017 race season, the Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing Team is back to defend MotoAmerica Superbike #1 plate with the newly crowned champion Tony Elias and the championship runner-up Roger Hayden. Aboard the championship winning Suzuki GSX-R1000, the team brings dominating momentum to AMA Superbike. No other motorcycle comes close to the number of championships, overall race victories or pole position records held by the GSX-R pedigree.
With a roster of championship contending riders and technical support staff, the Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing Team is excited to once again field the Suzuki GSX-R1000 bikes on the track. Check out the video below!
