SUZUKI ENDURANCE 3RD ON OSCHERSLEBEN EWC GRID

Team Suzuki Press Office – June 8.

Suzuki Endurance Racing Team will start tomorrow’s Oschersleben 8-Hours from third position on the grid with the GSX-R1000 Suzuki just 0.218-seconds from pole following today’s final qualifying for the fourth and penultimate round of the 2018-2019 EWC.

The 15-times world champions, and current series leaders – Vincent Philippe, Etienne Masson and Gregg Black – stayed with a combined lap of 1:26.766; the same as yesterday’s time at the 3.667km Motorsport Arena Oschersleben Circuit. Philippe clocked a best lap of 1:26.785, Masson 1:26.822 and Black 1:26.693.

Also, in today’s final qualifying, six more Suzuki GSX-R1000 teams took part with Superstock Championship contenders, Junior Team LMS – Louis Rossi, Hugo Clere and Alexis Masbou – finishing fourth fastest in class and 16th overall in the joint EWC-SST rankings.

Dominique Méliand – SERT Team Manager:

“The weather was not reliable for today. Finally, it was not rainy but very windy, which is really difficult for the riders. At the end, we’ve lost one place on the starting grid, but this changes nothing regarding our chances for the race!”
