It was an extraordinary weekend for the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team with Nicolò Bulega and Iker Lecuona.
The two Aruba.it Racing – Ducati riders secured their second consecutive one-two-three finish following their success at Portimão.
After Bulega’s clear victory in the Superpole Race, Lecuona took the lead on lap three of Race 2 after overtaking Lowes (Ducati). One lap later, Bulega took the lead, securing his sixth consecutive one-two finish ahead of his team-mate.
This result puts Ducati on course for a new record: since the introduction of the Superpole Race, no manufacturer has ever achieved three one-two-three finishes in the same weekend.
Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #11)
“I’m very happy. It was an unpredictable weekend, especially given the weather. However, we did a great job and for that I thank Ducati and my team. It was important for me to leave Assen feeling positive after last year.”
Iker Lecuona (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #7)
“I must admit I’m very satisfied. The weekend started with a feeling that wasn’t quite the same as at Portimao, but we managed to close the gap and be very competitive. The goal remains the same as at the start of the season: to improve race by race, and we’re doing just that.”
