Our First Hand Review:

Shining like brilliant gold in the sun, aerodynamically curved and sculpted to easily fit in your hand; and that's just the bottle!

Note that before using a any wax, polish or 3 step system to wash your motorcycle first with soap and water to get rid of the surface dust, dirt, mud, grime and bugs. This is critical as you DO NOT want to rub even the smallest amount of dust in your paint as it is like taking sandpaper to it! After this is down then you can sit down and start waxing it. It is well worth your time and the results will be better.

About Kit: Kit products have been around for over 40 years on the market. Kit is a product from Northern Labs located in Manitowoc, Wisconsin who also make Formula 1, Pan Clean Pro Wash, Goddard's, Mr. Metal and Mr. Leather products.

Using the same motorcycle we used in our Kit Bike Clean review we proceeded with the next step, Kit Bike Shine. Here is our first hand results with Kit Bike Shine:

In our experience, liquids are always easier to apply than a solid wax. Solid paste waxes are usually the toughest and longest lasting but they take a lot of work. Cream waxes are a compromise and liquid waxes last the least longest but are by far the easiest to apply.

To be honest, I normally stay away from liquid waxes as I have the time to apply a solid paste wax and don't mind the extra hour of work it takes. So I was skeptical going into this review but put that aside as I want to be unbiased as possible.

Kit Bike Shine is a white (milk-like) liquid wax that can be sprayed out of the bottle. I don't recommend spraying it directly on your bike as you don't want wax overspray. You should spray it away from your bike on a soft polishing cloth, then apply that to the bike. It will give you better control and less mess.

Starting with the bike washed, cleaned and dried you can then apply any wax product. Wax and water do NOT mix. The product recommends doing one section at a time and I agree. Divide the motorcycle parts you want to wax up in sections, fender, tank, side panels, etc then do each one in that order. After you are done go back and do them again for best results.

As with cream and solid paste waxes you let them sit a few minutes to "haze" before polishing them off. Kit Bike Shine doesn't really "haze" but we used the same process anyway.

How did it turn out? I won't keep you in suspense, it was amazing. Liquid wax that produces a mirror shine as good as solid paste wax? Now it is possible. As it is a liquid wax it is very easy to apply and takes only a small amount of time, for this reason it is now easy to use this product on your motorcycle every few months.

The results were extremely positive but I wanted to see how "long-lasting" the shine would be. A month of riding later the shine was still there. But how much of it was left? I washed the bike with wax friendly soap and applied Kit Bike Shine to just the tank and compared the difference... and I can agree with Kit that it is long-lasting as the difference was very little, the month old shine was as good as new.

We found a 16 FL. OZ. (473 mL) spray bottle will set you back $3.99 USD at Checker Auto parts.

Overall:

Produces a mirror like shine that lasts, is easy to apply and takes no time at all. What more do you want in a product?

Availability in the USA at major auto part retailers (e.g. AutoValue, Pepboys, AutoZone, more). Unfortunately it is not available in other parts of the world yet.

Highly recommend.
