- Bulega remains unbeatable.Nicolò Bulega (Ducati), during the Hungarian Round, the fourth event of the FIM Superbike World Championship, completed his perfect weekend by winning not only Race 1 and the Superpole Race, but also Race 2, securing his fourth triple victory of the season and his 16th consecutive win. The Italian championship leader finished ahead of the other Ducatis of teammate Iker Lecuona and Yari Montella on the podium. All three riders, along with the rest of the grid, chose standard-range Pirelli DIABLO™ Superbike tires in SC1 compound at the front and supersoft SCX at the rear. Compared with Race 2 in 2025, today’s race was 17.5 seconds faster, the average lap time being 0.8 seconds quicker.
· SCX keeps breaking records. In the Superpole Race, shortened to 8 laps after a red flag at the first start, Nicolò Bulega opened Sunday with another victory ahead of the Ducatis of Iker Lecuona and Lorenzo Baldassarri. In this race, too, all riders chose the SC1 front and the supersoft SCX rear, with Bulega setting a new race lap record of 1’38”230, improving by 0.553 seconds on the previous record he had set himself in Race 1.
· Supersport goes to Arenas. Race 2 of the FIM Supersport World Championship was won by Spaniard Albert Arenas who, in an all-Yamaha podium sweep, finished ahead of Turkish rider Can Öncü and Spaniard Roberto Garcia. All riders opted for the SC1 soft front and the supersoft SCX rear. In Race 2 of the WorldWCR, Paola Ramos took victory ahead of Beatriz Neila and Maria Herrera in a class that uses Yamaha YZF‑R7 bikes fitted with Pirelli DIABLO™ Superbike tyres in SC1 compound on both axles. The second race of the Yamaha R3 World Cup, also run with SC1 compound tyres, was won by Dominican rider Xarly Mendez ahead of Italian Angelo Mottola and Brazilian Aymon Bocanegra.
Standard-range tyres star at Balaton
“At the end of the FIM Superbike World Championship Hungarian Round, which saw new outright lap and race lap records set in both the Superbike World Championship and the FIM Supersport World Championship, Pirelli’s decision to bring the softest allocation from its range to Balaton Park Circuit proved to be the right one. The constant evolution of the track and the excellent condition of the asphalt helped the teams’ work, with lap times progressively improving throughout the weekend.
In terms of outright performance, the extrasoft SCQ allowed Nicolò Bulega to set a new lap record, while over race distance the supersoft SCX once again delivered outstanding performance, as shown by the many riders who rode faster than the 2025 race lap record. A clear improvement in race speed was also seen in the WorldSSP.
These results confirm the effectiveness of Pirelli’s continuous development work, the benefits of which are also passed on to end users through the availability of the same standard-range tyres used in the World Championship for track activity and track days.”
