Böhnke takes second victory in German Yamaha YXZ1000R Cup

Christian Böhnke and Renato Heinrich were back in action, taking first and third in round three of the German Yamaha YXZ1000R Cup taking place in Gröningen on 18th May as part of the Endurance Masters Organisation.

Running as a separate Cup inside the Endurace Masters Organization, the third race in Germany took place in sunny conditions at the Motorsportpark Gröningen near Magdeburg.

Böhnke repeated his round one dominance with his Yamaha YXZ1000R to lead from start to finish on two 30-minute circuits of the complex track. Open category drivers Thomas Ziegltrum and Jens Albrecht were also on form, embroiled in a thrilling battle for their category win, until Jens suffered a technical issue and was forced to retire. After a hard-fought race in tough conditions Ziegltrum was followed home by Heinrich in third.

After three rounds all drivers are still in contention to win the German Yamaha YXZ1000R Cup.
