TWO RS-GP25s AHEAD OF FIELD IN PRACTICE: MARCO BEZZECCHI LEADS WITH NEW ALL-TIME LAP RECORD, RAÚL FERNÁNDEZ SECOND WITH TRACKHOUSE MOTOGP TEAM
The opening day of practice at Australia’s Phillip Island Circuit ended with extremely positive signs for Aprilia Racing. Marco Bezzecchi maintained his impressive form, delivering an outstanding Friday performance. He topped the timesheets with a new all-time circuit record of 1:26.492  – a lap that earned him direct entry to Q2.

Lorenzo Savadori, standing in for Jorge Martín, continued development work on the RS-GP25 and finished the session in nineteenth position.

Raúl Fernández’s performance for the Trackhouse MotoGP Team was another highlight, as he finished practice in second place, securing direct access to Q2 alongside Bezzecchi.

It was a great day – definitely a positive one. I felt comfortable on the bike and we worked well, especially on the tyres: I tested several compounds at the front and rear, and now we have a fairly clear overall picture.
It was great to be back riding at Phillip Island. It was a very positive day, with two Aprilias leading the pack. As for me, we’re conducting a few experiments on the bike, and they’re responding well.
It was an extremely positive day, with Marco breaking the all-time lap record not once but twice. A clear sign that he feels very comfortable both with the bike and on this track. Raúl’s excellent second place also confirms that the RS-GP25 is working very well here. Lorenzo Savadori, back on track, standing in for Martín, continued with the bike’s development work. For Saturday, we’ll keep working on a few areas where we know we can still improve performance.
