Grand Prix of the Netherlands MXGP R16 2026 Race Day

• Calvin Vlaanderen narrowly misses the Top Ten at the Dutch Grand Prix
The final European Grand Prix of the FIM Motocross World Championship was held this weekend at the Motorsportpark Gelderland Midden track in Arnhem, in the central part of the country, about 100 kilometers from Bergeijk, home of the Red Bull Ducati Factory MXGP Team. The home race, held at this circuit for now four years in a row, proved to be a demanding test for both the riders and the Desmo450 MX machines, resulting in a result below expectations.
Involved without fault in a crash at the start of the first heat together with his teammate Calvin Vlaanderen and restarting at the back of the group, Andrea Bonacorsi managed to climb up to twelfth place, crossing the finish line in 13th after 19 laps. Calvin finished 16th, without finding a good feeling with the track. The second race got off to a better start, with Bonacorsi battling for ninth place and Vlaanderen 12th after the first lap. A technical issue slowed the Italian, who had to stop with four laps to go, while the Dutchman managed to cross the finish line in 11th place, missing the top ten at his home Grand Prix by just one point.
After a week’s break, the Red Bull Ducati Factory MXGP Team will head to Turkey for the first of the final three consecutive races of the 2026 MXGP championship, which will conclude in Australia after a visit to China.
