2012 Honda CBR600RR Review

Leading the Way Among Middleweights

CBR600RR, Middleweight Champion.

The 2012 Honda CBR600RR melds a light and compact chassis with impeccable power delivery to create a balanced combination that remains a favorite among sport riders. In racing, no other 600cc machine has won more AMA and World Supersport championships than Honda’s CBR600. Also available with Honda’s unique Combined ABS for the pinnacle of sportbike braking performance, the CBR600RR continues to lead the way in the middleweight class.

Talk about a blast to ride: Honda’s awesome CBR600RR strikes a perfect balance between performance and handling in a middleweight package. The 2012 Honda CBR600RR offers state-of-the-art technology in a package most riders find just about perfect. And to make a legendary bike even better, you can opt for one with Honda’s revolutionary Combined Anti-Lock Braking System (C-ABS), the first ever on a production supersport motorcycle.

The CBR600RR is the best 600-class sportbike going, and one of the sharpest looking as well. The only question: Which color will you be riding?

It Is About the Bike.

Throw your leg over one of our supersport machines just once and you’ll never ride anything but red again. More than half a century of race-bred engineering, fine-tuned at the highest and most heatedly contested levels of road racing in the world, have been poured into the bikes you see here. Sleek, eye-catching and packed with our latest, highest tech from nose to tail, our sport motorcycles exist for one reason: to strike fear in the hearts of every other machine out there.

Availability: December 2011

The CBR600RR holds an enviable position at the forefront of race-bred engineering, excelling in both track and road performance. In 2012 its competitive focus is reaffirmed by the release of a thrilling new colour option: a fresh Victory Red/Ross White version.

Supremely compact and potent, the CBR600RR delivers blistering power balanced by easy, natural handling and faultless road manners. This is made possible by ultra-light weight, mass centralisation and a compact chassis. The engine delivers immediate, exhilarating torque, while its fairing is aggressively aerodynamic, enhances stability and allows maximum enjoyment of the machine’s performance.

Smooth, strong braking power is provided by radially-mounted four-piston caliper front disc brakes. The ABS version features the revolutionary Honda electronically-controlled “Combined ABS”. Due to its short wheelbase, a sportsbike can be prone to pitching under hard braking, which reduces rear traction. The unique Honda system, designed specifically for Super Sports riders, minimises this tendency, ensuring superb stability and control under severe deceleration.

In either the standard or the Combined ABS version, the CBR600RR is an incredibly versatile and agile Super Sports machine. It is capable of the fastest, most intense track riding, while also delivering a controllable and naturally easy road-riding experience.
