Enjoy the ride…

Motorcycling is changing. More than ever before people are turning to touring motorcycles to escape the ever accelerating pace of modern life. Rather than seeking an adrenaline rush they are looking for a way to relax, a way to get back in touch with the things that used to matter. They want to get outdoors, away from the computer screen; they want to meet people face-to-face instead of using the latest digital device; they want real in a fake world. To be truly worry-free however, this escape has to be affordable.

Touring motorcycles have not changed with the times to address this new reality. Until now, the CTX700T was designed specifically with this new-age rider in mind.

Instead of joining the battle for ever-increasing performance the CTX700T utilizes cutting edge technology to craft a machine that eases the effort of operation to an almost invisible level. Riders become less focused on the machine itself, free to just enjoy the experience of riding. Honda engineers used one of the most advanced engines in motorcycling along with a host of new chassis innovations to create a truly unique riding experience.Smaller, lighter and easier to manage with more than double the fuel economy of traditional tourers – the CTX700T.

Engine/Drivetrain

Unique engine architecture, with parallel cylinders canted forward by 62 degrees, offers a remarkably low centre-of-gravity, making the CTX feel smaller, lighter and easier to handle than its size would suggest..
Engineers went to great lengths to ensure the engine had a distinctive sound and feel. The 270-degree firing order, uniaxial primary counterbalance shaft and subtle combustion control measures combine to create a satisfying throb unlike anything you’ve felt before..
The low-rpm, high-torque engine is eerily smooth and produces the kind of effortless power you can use to carry that special someone, and luggage for two, across town or across the country..
Concern over fuel costs won’t cut into your relaxation on longer trips. Extensive use of friction-reduction technology, advanced combustion control focused around a sophisticated fuel injection system and an overdrive six-speed transmission mean the CTX delivers exceptional, class leading fuel economy..
Placing the catalytic converter just downstream of the exhaust ports, where exhaust gas temperatures are highest, maximizes emission control efficiency. In fact, its emission output surpasses all Canadian standards by a wide margin..

Chassis/Suspension

A rigid, diamond-shaped steel frame ensures both rock solid stability on high-speed highways and responsive handling when the road turns twisty..
Suspension design further adds to the CTX’s long distance credentials. An advanced, single-shock, Pro-link rear suspension system provides superior comfort and control through increased, progressive travel. Up front, a stout 41mm front fork, mounted with sporting geometry, provides excellent feedback, enhancing confidence. If your idea of escape is chasing the sun into the next time zone, you’ll find the CTX700T a willing partner..
Wide, 17” cast aluminum wheels at each end, shod with sporting radials, inspire confidence and will have you seeking out the more interesting roads..
Powerful front and rear disc brakes feature Honda’s advanced ABS system, offering new levels of performance, safety and peace of mind in all weather conditions..

Additional Features

The CTX700T’s unique fuel tank placement creates room for a convenient storage compartment where the fuel tank is traditionally located, while retaining a low seat height that allows you to “flat foot” for added security when fully loaded..
Modern, digital LCD instrumentation tells you everything you need to know on the road and includes speedometer, digital bar-type tachometer, clock, low fuel gauge and two tripmeters..
The full-coverage fairing and windshield really add to your comfort on the highway. Your travelling partner will be well taken care of too with a generous, plush seat and integrated grab handles for an added feeling of security..
Want to take long distance comfort a step further? Add a genuine Honda accessory tall windshield along with integrated, colour matched saddlebags, heated grips and a passenger backrest with carrier.
