2016 Kawasaki KLX140L on www.Totalmotorcycle.com
THE RIGHT SIZE FOR FUN…
The KLX®140—as well as the slightly larger KLX140L—is the perfect t if you’re looking for a fun and durable off-road motorcycle that’s easy to ride. With lower seat heights, electric start and smooth power in a chassis that’s easy to handle, the KLX140/140L has the capability to provide endless Good Times.
Off-road riders and mini-moto enthusiasts don’t have to settle for simple one-size machines with limited performance and cramped ergonomics. Kawasaki’s KLX140 has opened the door for a wider variety of riders in the small displacement off-road arena.
Both the KLX140 and KLX140L share a rigid box section steel perimeter frame for excellent handling characteristics, as well as a lightweight aluminum swingarm. They have 33mm telescopic front forks and a Uni-Trak® rear linkage for the adjustable rear shock. On the KLX140, this single rear shock has five-way preload adjustment, while the KLX140L offers a taller seat height (31.5” compared to 30.7” for the KLX140), longer suspension travel at each end, with the rear shock using a remote reservoir, adjustable preload, 22-way rebound and 14-way compression damping adjustment.
Showing the KX heritage, both the KLX140 and KLX140L use large 220mm petal-shape front rotor with a twin-piston caliper, and a 186mm petal-shape rear rotor. These provide plenty of stopping power. And the KX influence continues with the wheels, which have strong die-cast hubs and lightweight RK EXCEL aluminum rims. The KLX140 uses a 17” front and 14” rear wheel, while the taller KLX140L is equipped with a 19” front and 16” rear wheels to accommodate taller riders, accounting for the extra ground clearance on the 140L.
