Based on the benchmark-setting YZ450F motocrosser, the WR450F is made to be versatile. Lighter, more compact, and with a lower centre of gravity, the WR450F packs enhanced performance in the bush at all speeds. With a more tractable and longer pulling engine, revised ECU settings, improved chassis, lightweight brake system and more, the WR450F offers increased performance and handling in the toughest off-road conditions.
The WR450F’s slimmer, flatter, and more compact body eases rider movement for improved control, including more seamless, rounded seat edges, revised side covers and narrower shrouds. The rider triangle is also optimized for increased legroom between the seat and footpegs for a more natural posture and enhanced rider comfort.
An advanced aluminum bilateral beam frame with a 15mm lower headtube and WR450F-specific front engine mounts provides just the right amount of strength and flex for the perfect combination of straight-line stability and cornering performance. High Performance 450cc Four-Stroke Engine
The 450cc liquid-cooled DOHC four-stroke engine is light, compact and features strong pulling power across the entire rev range. A high rev limit assists over-rev, further boosting the WR450F’s broad power character. Additionally, ECU settings are tailored to suit the specific needs of trail riding and enduro competition.
Three-Level Traction Control System
A Traction Control System enabled through Yamaha’s Power Tuner App communicates wheel slip to the ECU, tuning the engine to maintain ideal rear wheel traction. Three levels can be selected: HIGH, LOW or OFF.
Advanced Fuel Injection
The engine breathes through a 44mm Mikuni® throttle body fed by a high-pressure electric pump to ensure optimum fuel atomization and power for a wide range of altitudes, weather and riding conditions.
Compact Lightweight Clutch
The disc spring clutch integrates primary gear and basket into a single steel unit. The result is a compact, lightweight and durable assembly that yields smooth engagement and excellent feel.
Wide-Ratio Five-Speed Transmission
The WR450F’s wide-ratio 5-speed transmission provides the right gear for any off-road situation, from tight technical sections to open fields and fire roads. The all-new tri-shaft transmission layout vertically stacks the transmission shafts, raising the center shaft and forming a triangle between the crank, drive shaft and main shaft for a lighter, more compact transmission.
