Jeffrey Herlings (Honda HRC PETRONAS) was crowned 2026 MXGP World Champion after Race 1 of the Turkish Grand Prix, securing Pirelli’s 84th world title in the FIM Motocross World Championship. The Dutchman has now won six world titles, having previously claimed MX2 crowns in 2012, 2013 and 2016, and MXGP titles in 2018 and 2021. All six have been achieved on Pirelli tyres, highlighting a long-standing partnership that has seen Herlings compete at the very highest level of world motocross for more than a decade. “We are proud to celebrate this outstanding achievement with Jeffrey Herlings. Winning a world championship is always special, but doing so with a champion who has claimed all six of his world titles on Pirelli tyres makes this success even more significant. Our 84th Motocross World Championship title confirms both the competitiveness of our off-road solutions and the importance of the FIM Motocross World Championship as a development platform for technologies that are subsequently transferred to tyres available to riders and enthusiasts around the world. I would like to congratulate Jeffrey, Honda HRC and the entire Pirelli team, whose daily commitment helps make achievements such as this possible,” said Giorgio Barbier, Pirelli Motorcycle Racing Director. Nicknamed “The Bullet” for his exceptional speed, Herlings continues to make motocross history. This season, he has collected eight successes in qualifying races, eight holeshots and 18 race victories from 34 starts.
