The next generation MT-125 features an aggressive and bold new design. A stretched, leaner silhouette thanks to a new seat makes this motorcycle instantly recognisable as part of the MT family whether tearingthrough city streets or parked up.
A sculpted new tank shape, combined with a distinctive textured panel along the side fairing with a transparent smoked, glitchy pattern with a visible MT logo give the MT-125 its ageless attitude. The new shape provides added comfort for the rider both in a relaxed position when commuting through city streets, and in a more aggressive position when tackling twisty bends for the thrill of the ride.

Known for its urban attitude, the latest distinctive face design of the MT-125 features a brand new sharp, angular look, with updated blade-like LED lights and front indicators making the stare of the MT-125 more intimidating than ever before. This modern design is paired with a dark smoked transparent front mask with a frosted effect ‘MT-125’ logo to complete thelook.
Designed to catch the eye, a higher contrast colour scheme has been introduced with Redline White, including a two-tone seat, joining the existing iconic colour lineup of Ice Storm, Icon Blue and Tech Black, with a bold new ‘125’ side graphic across the tank of each colour model. Aggressive by nature, bold by design and built to thrill, the 2027 MT-125 is ready to excite.
Bold by nature
A bold new look enhances the MT-125’s aggressive nature, with a leaner silhouette complemented by distinctive textured panels highlighted by dark smoke, glitchy designs and updated graphics. A sharp, angular front with blade-like LED lights and a dark smoked transparent front mask, brings the MT-125 firmly to the front of the aggressive styling matching with the MT-07 and MT-09.
Torque-rich 125cc EU5+ engine with VVA
The MT-125’s thrilling 125cc 4-valve liquid-cooled EU5+ engine is equipped with Yamaha’s exclusive Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) system featuring two intake cams. This R125 Supersport-derived technology enables the engine to deliver exciting levels of torque at lower engine speeds and outstanding top-end performance when you open the throttle.
5-inch colour TFT display with connectivity and navigation
The MT-125’s 5-inch colour TFT display comes with three switchable themes to present your bike’s vital information in crisp clear detail. Connect your smartphone with the free Yamaha MyRide app, so you can manage texts, calls and music while on the go, as well as having turn-by-turn navigation, so you’ll never be late again.
Modern and aggressive body design
Slim and athletic bodywork gives a dynamic look that’s been strongly influenced by the larger capacity MT models. The MT-125’s signature mass-forward styling, compact fuel tank and short tail accentuate the model’s aggressive stance – and with its dynamic riding position, you’d better get ready for the most thrilling ride in the class!
Sharp face with blade-like LED lights
The latest MT-125 joins the family with a bold facelift. A new sharp, angular face with blade-like LED lights gives this 125 motorcycle a more aggressive style – completed by a dark smoked transparent front mask and frosted effect logo, while the blade-like lighting emits a strong beam, enabling increased visibility no matter what time of day it is.
Assist and slipper clutch
The MT-125 is equipped with an assist and slipper (A&S) clutch with a super-light feeling at the lever that gives easy gear changing. As well as requiring less physical input from the rider, the A&S clutch importantly makes aggressive high-rev downshifts even smoother and helps prevent rear wheel lock ups to give you greater control of your MT.
Sporty Deltabox-inspired frame and aluminium swingarm
The Supersport-derived Deltabox style frame and aluminium swingarm deliver light and sporty handling, as well as impressive comfort and confidence at higher speeds. Together with its compact bodywork, the geometry of this MT is optimised to achieve mass centralisation and a dynamic riding position that’s designed to handle every twist in the road.
High-specification 41mm upside down front forks
Equipped with 41mm tubes, the premium upside down forks inspired by the larger MT models provide excellent handling in a range of different riding conditions, while offering 130mm of smooth and responsive suspension travel for a comfortable ride.
Wide 140-section rear tire
Adding to the MT-125’s aggressive stance, the wide 140-section rear tyre not only looks like it means business but is designed to handle the torque delivered by the model’s latest EU5+ 125cc engine. Whether you’re riding around town or carving through curves, this lightweight Master of Torque feels exhilarating!
Traction Control System.
The MT-125 comes equipped with TCS. Using advanced ECU functions and real-time riding data provided by sensors at the rear wheel, the chances of drifting or slipping in wet conditions are minimized to give you ultimate controllability and maximum thrill.
Radial-mount caliper and 292mm front disc
For strong and precise braking performance together with a high level of feel, the MT-125 is fitted with a radial mount caliper and a large 292mm diameter disc for optimum stopping power. This class-leading set-up gives accurate fingertip control at lower speeds, together with outstanding braking performance at higher speeds.
LED indicators for added style and visibility
