Larissa Papenmeier – 4-3 – 3rd overall

Larissa Papenmeier raced to a hard-earned podium position in the weekend’s German round of the Women’s Motocross World Championship in Teutschenthal aboard her RM-Z Suzuki.

Papenmeier (Team Twenty Suspension Suzuki) kept honing her skills in the third race of the MXW season 2018, and in Teutschenthal, which is about 50 kilometers from Leipzig, the 28-year-old German thrilled her home fans by taking a podium position.

Papenmeier took fourth position in qualifying and continued with strong results with a good start in the first race which saw her take fourth position.

Said Papenmeier: “I didn’t find my rhythm during the race but the fans were fantastic and supported me amazingly!” In the second race, Papenmeier was in fourth position after the first lap, then a few laps later she was able to overtake one of her competitors. This put her in third position, which she successfully defended against Nancy van de Ven, finishing third and reaching the podium.

Added Papenmeier: “Even though I’m not really happy about my style of riding this weekend, a podium in front of my home crowd is awesome and I want to thank all the fans that supported me!”

Anne Borchers (Team stielergruppe.mx Johannes Bikes Suzuki) also delivered a good performance and rode into the top 10 twice in her home race. The 26-year-old had good starts in both races and proved her talent with eighth and ninth positions.
