The original “naked” motorcycle, the Ducati Monster created an overnight sensation when it was launched over a decade ago. Today, it defines the class more than ever. An essential street fighter – with its fully exposed engine and bodywork – the Monster delivers style and real sport bike performance. This year, the Monster S4R, the first in the high-performance Monster SR dynasty, is joined by the new S2R. “Classic” versions of the bike, which have made this family so popular, include the agile 620 and the powerful 1000.
The Monster has a relaxed and confidence-inspiring riding position combined with some of our most powerful Ducati Desmo, 90° L-twin engines. A Superbike trellis frame, fuel injection, computer engine management and the latest race-performance brakes and suspension guarantee smooth and capable road manners.

The S version is a benchmark for style and performance. A colour-matched front fairing and rear seat cover are included, complimented by carbon fibre exhaust guards and side panels. Performance is enhanced by a set of Showa front forks that are fully-adjustable for compression, rebound and pre-load combined with a lightweight aluminum swingarm. Our most powerful air-cooled Monster gets its strength from the 1000 Dual Spark engine that achieves new levels of efficiency and reliability. Ducati’s decades of experience with air-cooled twin technology and the innovative 1000 DS engine are a product of our continuous advancement in the field.
The Monster 1000 is the perfect combination of sporting prowess and strong character. The powerful Dual Spark engine complemented by the exposed trellis frame keep the rider’s heart pounding at every bend. The bike’s unmistakable look derives from its spartan character: every component performs a specific function, so there are no frivolous accessories, just pure concentrated technology.
The Monster 1000 is available in two versions: the 1000 and 1000S. Both feature the 1000 DS engine and advanced rising rate Superbike rear suspension that allows the adjustment of ride height separately from spring preload. Normally expensive upgrades like adjustable control levers, anti-theft immobilizer and Brembo twin disc brakes are standard on both versions.

New for 2005 Great news for Monster fans! The Monster range for 2005 has doubled in size. The Monster S4R, a real naked superbike dedicated to the most demanding Ducati fans, will be joined by another just as mean, aggressive and exclusive Monster, the S2R. The arrival of the S2R heralds the birth of the SR family of Monsters, an innovative re-interpretation of the original Monster concept. And the S2R is not the only news in the Monster world. Fans of this unique motorcycle will be delighted to learn of the many developments that have taken place both in the 620 and 1000 models. The Monster Cromo is back, the bike made for riders who never want to go unnoticed. Great to look at, more than original, in fact quite unique, the Cromo will be available in a limited edition destined to command unlimited interest.
