September 29th, 2005 – 2006 Suzuki Stratosphere concept six-cylinder 180bhp, 1100cc machine aimed at becoming the ultimate all-purpose bike. – Suzuki

“Suzuki’s stunning six-cylinder Stratosphere received its world debut at press day ahead of Saturday’s 39th Tokyo Motor Show.

The Stratosphere is powered by an 1100cc in-line, six-cylinder engine that uses a space saving design to achieve compactness on par with four-cylinder engines of similar displacement. The riding feel that results is said by Suzuki to be extraordinarily smooth yet brisk revving that is a world apart from four-cylinder engines.

The front cowling and fuel tank are made from hammered aluminum while the radiator covers are made from Damascus steel to provide a unique texture to the Stratosphere’s unique design.

Don’t rush out to the neighborhood Suzuki dealer and make a deposit, however. The Stratosphere is currently an exhibition concept model. But the quality of the model on display suggests that the only thing holding Suzuki back from adding the Stratosphere to the product line-up is a green light from management.” – Cycle News
