Ok, I have to admit the GoPro Chesty Chest Mount harness isn’t the most manly (even womanly) of things to wear, you do stick out a little wearing a harness around and having a camera mounted in the middle of your chest doesn’t help the fashion statement either. But all things being equal, it’s a great idea and a great place to mount a camera for perspective, even when riding a motorcycle. A word of caution for this though as if you own a crotch rocket, this isn’t for you as the view will be of your gas tank only (as it has limited adjustability). But if you own a standard/naked bike, tourer, cruiser or scooter, hey, check this out as you are sitting more upright.

The harness is a little bulky and the strap adjustability is limited for size and so in the adjustability angle of the camera mount as well but it does add up to a really nice product, if the angle works for you. The angle is really neat as with the GoPro HD camera you can see a very wide angle which includes the gas tank, the handlebars, your arms and the gauges, making you feel more like you are riding the bike in the video rather than watching a video of a bike going down the road. Vibration isn’t a problem as your clothing and body will dampen out any vibration before reaching the camera and the camera does not slip from it’s central position thanks to the well designed harness either.

The GoPro Chesty Chest Mount harness worked very well and produced some really nice video results and angles. Total Motorcycle mounted it different positions and have included video below for your judgement on what view you like best and what worked best.

Overall, we were quite impressed with the mount and awarded it our Total Motorcycle Editor’s Gold Award, 4 out of 5.

The Positives

1. GoPro Chesty Chest Mount is easy to use, put on/take off and adjust

2. Vibration is a thing of the past.

3. Unique video angles

The Negatives

1. The harness is a little bulky and the strap adjustability is limited for size and so in the adjustability angle of the camera mount.

2. Does not work for all types of motorcycles due to riding position.
