Following Billy Bolt’s victory at the World Enduro Super Series opener, the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team are set for round two of the series – the 2018 Erzbergrodeo in Austria. Taking place from May 31 to June 3, the 24th edition of the event will see Bolt, Graham Jarvis and Colton Haaker all launch bids to conquer the infamous Iron Giant. Returning from injury, Alfredo Gomez will contest the Iron Road Prologue.
Kicking off the newly-established WESS series in the best possible way with an impressive victory, Billy Bolt has his eyes set on continuing his winning momentum at the biggest hard enduro event on the annual calendar. Enjoying great form aboard his TE 300i machine, the young Brit is looking to further strengthen his early season WESS championship lead and add his name to the memorable list of Erzbergrodeo winners.
A three-time Hare Scramble winner, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Graham Jarvis will again be going all out for victory in Austria. Looking to make use of his acute extreme enduro skills, Graham has his eyes set on a coveted fourth victory in Austria.
Finishing just outside the top 10 last year, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Colton Haaker is looking forward to his third participation in the event. Back to competitive fitness following his crash at the WESS season opener in Portugal, the American is focused on improving on his 2017 11th place result at the Erzbergrodeo Hare Scramble.
Reigning Erzbergrodeo Hare Scramble champion Alfredo Gomez will make his return to competitive action – following injury – this weekend in Austria. Set to take the start of the Iron Road Prologue, Alfredo’s participation in the Hare Scramble will be decided prior to Sunday’s main event.
The inaugural World Enduro Super Series continues with its second round for 2018, the Erzbergrodeo on May 31-June 3. Staged over four days at the famous iron ore mine outside Eisenerz, Austria the highlight of the event will be Sunday’s Erzbergrodeo Hare Scramble contested over the challenging trails inside of the Austrian mine.
Andreas Hölzl – Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team Manager: “We had a great start to the season in Portugal and the goal now is to keep that same momentum going into Erzberg. Without a question the Erzbergrodeo is the biggest event in the annual extreme enduro calendar and for the whole team it is important to show what we are capable of. Getting the win at Lagares, Billy is at the top of his game and we are confident he can battle for the win. As a three-time Erzberg champion, Graham knows exactly what it takes to fight for the top step of the podium. Making full use of his experience, we believe Graham will be the man to beat at the Eisenerz mine this weekend. Following his crash at Lagares, Colton was cleared by his medical crew to compete at Erzberg. He spent the last couple of weeks training hard and is really looking forward to the event. It’s also nice to have Alfredo back racing with us following his injury. Still not 100%, Alfredo will race the Iron Road Prologue and depending on how he feels, we will decide together whether or not to take the start to Sunday’s Hare Scramble.”
