Yamaha Tracer 700 Official Motorcycle of La Vuelta

Yamaha has been appointed as one of the new official suppliers of La Vuelta, Spain’s largest cycling event

Since its first edition in 1935, La Vuelta has become the top race in Spain’s national cycling calendar. This year will mark the 73rd edition of what is, along with the Tour de France and the Giro D’Italia, one of the most important stage races in the world.
This sponsorship agreement makes the multi-purpose Yamaha Tracer 700 the official motorbike of La Vuelta for 2018. This versatile motorcycle offers a unique driving experience, with equipment and characteristics that make it a true road motorcycle – ideal for the spectacular routes that La Vuelta will complete throughout Spain this year.
“Having a motorcycle that guarantees the best possible safety conditions during the race is essential”, said Javier Guillén, General Director of Unipublic, organiser of La Vuelta. “The race capsule is a roaming entity and all its elements must be perfectly coordinated so that everything runs smoothly. Yamaha’s sponsorship is synonymous with reliability, precision and road safety; three fundamental pillars when organising a race such as La Vuelta”.
With its reduced weight, tipping the scales at only 196kg, the Yamaha Tracer 700 is equipped with the award-winning CP2 two-cylinder, 689cc engine, which guarantee great agility. Its comfortable and ergonomic driving position, its tall screen and a fuel deposit with a capacity of 17 litres, make the Tracer 700 the ideal motorcycle to enjoy each trip to the fullest – whether it be in the city or on winding roads during weekend getaways.

22 motorcycles

Yamaha’s sponsorship this year consists in providing 22 units of Tracer 700 motorcycles that will be used by La Vuelta’s organisation: for race management services, by the commissaries and support teams as well as by the neutral service.
In the words of Victor González, Country Manager at Yamaha Motor Spain, “At Yamaha, we have sport and competition in our DNA. Collaborating with a sporting event such as La Vuelta is a great opportunity for us to transmit our achievement and active lifestyle values. For us, it is also an opportunity to bring our products closer to the general public and show their reliability. Our Tracer 700 stands out for its recognised multi-purpose nature and for its manageability, which give it an incredible ability to adapt to any circumstance on the road – meaning that it will adjust perfectly to the needs of each stage of La Vuelta”.
Besides the visibility that the Tracer 700 will have during the entire event, Yamaha will also have an active presence in the “Parque Vuelta”, the entertainment activation area for sponsors, organised by La Vuelta. In various cities along the route, a pavilion will be set up where information about the models Tracer 700 and Tracer 900GT will be provided. Also merchandise will be handed out to the public, who will have the possibility as well of winning one of the various jerseys that Yamaha has designed especially to commemorate its participation in La Vuelta 2018.
The cooperation agreement between Yamaha and La Vuelta reaffirms the leadership, integrity and prestige of Yamaha not just in Spain, but also beyond the Spanish borders.
