After seizing another podium in Argentina with Andrea Dovizioso (3rd), the Mission Winnow Ducati team is ready to take it back to the track at the Circuit of the Americas (United States) for the third round of the 2019 MotoGP World Championship. Here are 10 key statistics about the American round:
- – The United States have hosted 31 GPs in total: 15 at Laguna Seca, 8 at Indianapolis, 6 at Austin and 2 at Daytona.
- – In 2013, the United States hosted as many as three GPs: at Austin, at Laguna Seca and at Indianapolis.
- – MotoGP has been racing at Austin since 2013. Márquez won each race (6) held at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) so far, scoring pole position on each occasion.
- – Ducati seized three podiums at Austin: in 2014, 2015 and 2016. In the last two races held at COTA, Andrea Dovizioso has always finished first among Ducati riders, crossing the line in sixth (2017) and fifth (2018) position respectively.
- – Andrea Dovizioso’s second position in 2015 is the best ever result achieved by Ducati at COTA. Dovizioso also stepped on the podium in 2014, finishing third.
- – Last year, Danilo Petrucci’s Desmosedici GP (fielded by the Pramac Racing Team) posted the highest top speed – 347.9 km/h – tied with Crutchlow’s Honda.
