2011 Honda FourTrax Recon TRX250TM

FourTrax Recon/FourTrax Recon ES

Serving faithfully as long-time best sellers, the manual-shift FourTrax® Recon® and the FourTrax Recon ES with its convenient Electric Shift Program (ESP®) transmission continue to be favorite choices. Credit their rugged features, get-it-done attitude and stylish looks, along with a strong-running 229cc OHV engine, electric starting and more. For those in search of a midsize mount, the FourTrax Recon and Recon ES both shape up to be an ideal riding partner.

There’s an old saying: “It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog.” Which, of course, describes the FourTrax Recon to a tee. While it may be our smallest Utility ATV, this 250cc-class machine is every bit the workhorse its bigger siblings are, offering rugged, reliable 2WD performance second to none. Better still, its compact size and footprint let it tackle tight trails larger ATVs might find impassable. And we even have two models to choose from: Our standard Recon comes with a conventional foot-shift ATV transmission, while the Recon ES features our Electric Shift Program (ESP) technology that lets you shift using two convenient handlebar-mounted buttons.

Built tough and reliable like all Honda ATVs, the Recon boasts full-sized performance in a compact, lighter-weight package featuring electric starting and slick, Rincon-esque styling. Are you the traditional type? Go for the manual-shift model. Looking for a little more convenience? Then opt for the Recon ES with Honda’s push-button Electric Shift Program (ESP), which puts gear selection right at your thumb-tip. Whichever Recon you choose, rest assured you can’t go wrong.
