| MARCO BEZZECCHI SIXTH, JORGE MARTÍN DECLARED FIT FOR GP. THIRD PLACE FOR AI OGURA OF THE SUPERFILE TRACKHOUSE MOTOGP TEAM | |||
| Aprilia Racing ended the opening day of practice at the Sepang International Circuit with important feedback.
Marco Bezzecchi finished FP1 in second place. In the afternoon, the Italian rider was sixth in practice with a time of 1:57.475, securing direct entry to Q2. Jorge Martín took a more cautious approach on Friday as he continues to recover from the fractured radius sustained at Phillip Island. After completing a couple of laps in FP1, finishing in twentieth position, the Spanish rider was reassessed by Dr Ángel Charte, MotoGP Medical Director, and was declared medically fit to compete in the Malaysian GP. Later, after completing a further two laps in practice, a decision was made in agreement with Dr Charte to end Martín’s session early to allow him to recover ahead of the rest of the weekend. Ai Ogura of the SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team also deserves a mention, finishing third at the end of practice with a time of 1:57.167, putting a second RS-GP26 straight into Q2. Raúl Fernández will not be able to participate, however, as he was declared unfit for the Grand Prix at the end of FP1. We wish him a speedy recovery. |
