First test of the 2026 season for the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team at Jerez de la Frontera

Nicolò Bulega tops the timesheets on Day 2, Iker Lecuona in sixth place, six-tenths behind.

The weather is once again inclement, significantly impacting the first tests of the 2026 WorldSBK season.

Rain fell incessantly on the first day of activity, forcing the riders to take to the track for only a few laps before returning to the pits. Lecuona took advantage of this to familiarise himself with the Panigale V4R, completing 14 laps, while Bulega preferred not to take to the track.

On Day 2, however, the sky was sunny in the morning, but the riders were forced to wait until early afternoon to get on their bikes in dry conditions.

Bulega completed 24 laps, setting the best time of 1’39.331. Lecuona (26 laps) finished sixth, 6 tenths behind his teammate with a time of 1’39.979.

In the middle of the afternoon, both Aruba.it Racing – Ducati riders were involved in a harmless crash at turn 5, betrayed by a patch of moisture still present on the circuit. In any case, their test would have ended a few minutes later when the rain returned to Jerez de la Frontera.

The Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team will be back on track at the Portimao circuit (Portugal) on January 28th and 29th.

Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #11)
“Obviously, the rain ruined our plans. It would have been important to stay on track for a long time, but instead we only managed to do 20 laps, which were still useful for regaining confidence with the bike after the winter. The sensations were good, but now we hope to be able to do two more complete days of testing at Portimão.”

Iker Lecuona (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #7)
“Despite the few laps we had available, we still managed to do a good job, especially on the setup. We are making progress day by day, and that makes me very happy. I must admit that the feeling with the Panigale V4R is extraordinary, even though I know we still have many details to sort out in order to be as competitive as we want to be from the start of the season”.
