Gardner and Aegerter Aiming High as WorldSBK Returns in France
The GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team is set to return to action this weekend, 5–7 September, as the FIM Superbike World Championship resumes at Magny-Cours, France, for the ninth round of the 2025 season.
Both Remy Gardner and Dominique Aegerter delivered solid performances in the first half of the season, consistently collecting valuable points and showing strong pace. The team now aims to build on that momentum over the final four rounds, with the goal of battling regularly at the front of the field.
After a challenging weekend in Balaton, where he was taken out in a multi-rider incident in Race 1, Australian rider Gardner is recovered and ready to get back aboard his Yamaha R1. Confident and motivated, he is targeting a strong comeback at a circuit where the team has shown promise in the past, despite not yet achieving its full potential.
Also joining the WorldSBK paddock once again is the Terra&Vita GRT Yamaha WorldWCR Team, with Sara Sánchez and Natalia Rivera set to compete in Round 5 of the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship. Notably, this weekend marks the debut of Magny-Cours on the WorldWCR calendar.
The race weekend schedule will see WorldSBK Race 1 take place on Saturday at 14:00 local time. Sunday will feature the Superpole Race at 11:00, followed by Race 2 at 15:30.
Remy Gardner
“It’s great to be back, and I’m ready to race again. I’ve recovered after the Balaton incident and I’m looking forward to a strong weekend in France, looking to improve my shape each session. In the past, we’ve shown good potential at Magny-Cours, even if the final results didn’t always reflect it. I’m excited to see the whole team again and to get back on the bike.”
Dominique Aegerter
“I’m highly motivated for the remaining rounds and really excited to be back on track after the summer break. I’ve kept training hard and I want to enjoy every race left this season, aiming to fight at the front and continue the progress we showed in Hungary. We’ll also need to keep an eye on the weather, but we’ve already shown that we can perform well in any conditions.”
