HAMAHARA JOINS SERT FOR SUZUKA 8-HOUR FINALE July 21, 2017 Michael Le Pard News Team Suzuki Press Office – July 20. Reigning Endurance World Champions Suzuki Endurance Racing Team has drafted in young All Japan Superbike rider Sodo Hamahara into the three-man squad at this month’s Suzuka 8-Hour Endurance final round in Japan. The 22-year-old from Kanagawa, Japan – who has raced alongside Suzuki MotoGP test rider Takuya Tsuda in the Yoshimura Suzuki Superbike team – including the 2016 Suzuka 8-Hours, along with finishing third in the 2015 All Japan SuperMOTO S1PRO Championship – will join Vincent Philippe and Etienne Masson aboard the SERT GSX-R1000 for the 40th Anniversary race at the end of the month. SERT currently holds a narrow one-point lead in the series and chase a 16th Endurance World Championship in 2017 and believe that Hamahara’s expertise and experience around the spectacular Suzuka venue will compliment the line-up.
