2013 Suzuki GSR750 Review

2013 Suzuki GSR750

A fusion of technology, fuel-injected performance and chiselled styling, the Suzuki GSR750 is built to turn heads for riders who wish to stand out from the pack.

The Suzuki GSR750 is ideal for cruising the streets or weekend blasts, as it combines a powerful engine and quality components, with strong angular lines across the whole machine.

Developed from the powerplant of the legendary Suzuki GSX-R750, the GSR750 features a 749cc, four-cylinder, fuel-injected DOHC engine resulting in broad powerband with loads of low-end torque and dynamic mid-range power.

Providing impressive stopping power, the GSR750 is fitted with 310mm dual front disc brakes and a 240mm rear disc brake.

A sculpted vented front fender and headlight shell and chiselled aggressive front bodywork complete its head-turning looks. Gold coloured anodized upper tubes on the inverted KYB front forks and exposed 4 into 1 exhaust system highlight the GSR750’s styling.

Take it to the streets on the GSR750.

The GSR750 is a new kind of naked machine: one that combines dynamic styling, 749cc performance and an exhilarating, sporty ride with each component carefully designed to work perfectly and add to the GSR750’s impressive presence. With strong lines running from nose to tail and impressive specification, the unique chassis incorporates the best qualities of a compact tubular streetbike frame and the pin-point accuracy of a twin-spar sportsbike frame. Riding on KAYABA suspension and powered by an engine derived from the GSX-R750, the result is a truly unique machine that offers strong acceleration from linear low-to-mid range torque and an intensely exciting ride.

GSX-R750 derived engine – Through modifications, including revised cam profiles, intake and exhaust tracts and a 12.3:1 compression ratio, Suzuki engineers have tuned the 749cc engine to produce broad low-end torque and dynamic mid-range power for strong acceleration and unmatched throttle response.

More fuel efficient – With the valves set at a very narrow angle, the combustion efficiency is also improved and with cutting-edge design techniques to reduce mechanical losses, sees a 10% improvement in fuel efficiency compared to the GSR600.

Upside Down Forks (USD) – A design developed in racing and mandatory for any serious high performance machine, the inverted KAYABA front forks feature41mm stanchion tubes and adjustable spring preload.

Sporty handling and riding position – With a sporty riding position and a careful relationship between the handlebars, footrests and the seat, adjustable front and rear KAYABA suspension and a compact frame, the new GSR750 tracks with real confidence to deliver a dynamic ride.

Exciting and unique instruments – With adjustable brightness, the instrument cluster features a prominent, easy to read analogue tachometer and a large digital LCD speedometer. The LCD display also includes a gear position indicator, fuel gauge, odometer/trip meter and a clock.

Slim mid-section – Designed to enhance comfort so that a wider range of riders can confidently get their feet on the floor.

2013 Suzuki GSR750 Key Features

Powerful 749 cm3 4-cylinder fuel-injected engine is tuned to deliver a dynamic wave of smooth torque and strong acceleration and sensation.

Throttle bodies with Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) system contribute to cylinder charging efficiency and combustion efficiency for better throttle response and torque at the low to mid rpm range.

Automatic Idle Speed Control (ISC) improves cold starting and stabilizes engine idle while also reducing cold-start emissions.

Iridium type spark plugs provide a more condensed and hotter spark yet last longer.

Effective engine management and emission control systems together allow the GSR750 to meet the latest emission standards.

Suzuki Pulsed-secondary AIR-injection (PAIR) system injects fresh air into the exhaust ports to react with unburned hydrocarbons and reduce CO2 emissions.

Suzuki Exhaust Tuning (SET) servo-controlled butterfly valve helps enhance torque, response and acceleration, especially at low-to-mid rpm range.

Frame design combines the advantages of a compact tubular girder streetbike frame and a twin-spar sportbike frame to deliver a dynamic ride.

Inverted KYB front forks feature a design developed in racing and that is mandatory on a serious, high-performance machine.
Link-type rear suspension, with a single rear shock absorber working through a progressive linkage. Spring preload is 7-way adjustable.

Dual front brakes with fully-floating 310mm discs and dual-piston calipers. 240mm rear disc brake with single-piston caliper.

Antilock Brake System (ABS)*, with a compact control unit monitors wheel speed, and matches stopping power to available traction (GSR750A only).

Carefully sculpted bodywork with highlights including a vented front fender, molded mirrors, chiseled fuel tank, textured tank side panels, and an angular tail section with integrated LED taillight.

Distinctive triangle-shaped muffler with a form-fitting brushed stainless steel heat shield.

Light and open radiator side panels mated with aggressive front bodywork side pieces.

Brightness-controllable instrument cluster, featuring a prominent analog tachometer and a large, digital LCD speedometer readout.

The LCD display also includes a gear-position indicator, coolant temperature gauge, fuel gauge, selectable odometer/dual-tripmeter/fuel consumption meter and a clock.

Bright and distinctively shaped headlight with a 60/55W halogen bulb. Integrated dual position lights with patterned blue lenses.

A compartment underneath the removable passenger seat can carry a U-shaped lock or can be used to store small items.

A selection of Suzuki Genuine Accessories is available for riders who want to customize their GSR750 and make it uniquely their own.
