KTM LAUNCHES A NEW GENERATION OF ENDURO MACHINES!
Developed on the toughest climbs, gnarliest terrain and in deepest mud with our Red Bull KTM Factory Racing stars, the benchmark-setting KTM enduros have just raised the bar. The 2020 line-up includes the new model KTM 150 EXC TPI, which is homologated for Euro 4, the KTM 250 EXC TPI and KTM 300 EXC TPI 2-strokes, as well as the KTM 250 EXC-F, KTM 350 EXC-F, KTM 450 EXC-F and KTM 500 EXC-F 4-strokes.
Following on from KTM’s many advancements in technology with its enduro machines in recent years, this wide range of KTM EXC models boasts the very latest in innovation. The model year 2020 enduros have new and more efficient yet high-performing engines, a re-developed chassis with improved WP XPLOR suspension, improved handling, new bodywork, new air filter box, new cooling system, and new exhaust systems. This, combined with the high-quality NEKEN handlebar, Brembo brakes, No-Dirt footpegs, and CNC milled hubs with Giant rims fitted as standard equipment, ensures that the KTM EXC model year 2020 are the best performing and most extreme enduro bikes on the market.
The flagship KTM SIX DAYS models offer a premium parts package and these world-beating enduros are widely regarded as the best competition machines on the market. SETTING THE BENCHMARK AND RACING TO WIN
KTM marked the start of a new era in enduro last season. Battling to the wire in the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship, Red Bull KTM Factory
Racing riders prepared themselves for their biggest challenge yet – the World Enduro Super Series. It was a campaign that saw real intensity
and strong rivalry, as well as extreme challenges. With races at the Red Bull Romaniacs, Gotland Grand National and Red Bull ErzbergRodeo, comprised with the likes of more traditional style events such as the Trèfle Lozérien and Hawkstone Park, only the ultimate enduro champion would
reign supreme.
KTM’s Jonny Walker had looked on target to battle for the title thanks to his consistent podium performances, when a high-speed crash at the
Red Bull 111 MegaWatt event in Poland ruled him out of the remainder of the season. Multi-time champion Taddy Blazusiak decided to return from
retirement to take on the WESS challenge and the Polish ace enjoyed a number of strong performances throughout the season, including a fourth
at the very specialist Gotland Grand National race where local knowledge was certainly key.
Learning the art of extreme enduro having come from a more traditional racing background were Nathan Watson and Josep Garcia, who made
great progress throughout the series. A highlight for Garcia was the event win at Hawkstone Park, whilst Watson, who recently became the first British racer to win Le Touquet and was crowned the French Beach Race Champion, was runner-up at the same event. Watson also won the final round of the WESS championship. A highlight performer of the year was KTM-supported youngster Manuel Lettenbichler, whose father was a former test rider and racer aboard KTM machinery. Lettenbichler put on a solid performance at each round to conclude the series with the runner-up
honors.
The championship was also an effective testing ground for the development of KTM´s EXC range. Each race required specific models from the 4-stroke and 2-stroke range, and they were certainly put through their paces to the absolute limits on occasion. This information has been utilized and it ensures that the latest generation of KTM EXC is as race-refined as ever.
KTM has so far had a successful racing campaign in offroad in 2019. Taking the 18th consecutive win at the Dakar Rally with Toby Price, winning the AMA Supercross 450SX Championship with Cooper Webb, and dominating the opening of the MXGP World Championship have all certainly been highlights. KTM stars Cody Webb and Taddy Blazusiak battled to the final round of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship, and were close to taking the title, but our enduro attention is now turned to the World Enduro Super Series, which began recently in Portugal. KTM continues to be defiant in its quest for victory, and this strive for excellence is certainly carried down to KTM’s serial production models.

The R&D engineers in Mattighofen, Austria have gone back to the drawing board to make the new generation KTM EXC MY2020 the most extreme
yet with a range of machines that are exceptionally dynamic, low-weight, powerful and highly agile. The MY2020 orange enduro machines offer
improved engines across the range with more efficient performance, whilst all 2-stroke models are fitted with the latest transfer port injection (TPI) technology. A re-worked chassis with improved handling, new bodywork, improved WP suspension and new exhaust systems are fitted across the entire range. BODYWORK & GRAPHICS
With input from KTM’s factory riders, as well as KTM R&D and Kiska Design, the new bodywork of the KTM 350 EXC-F pushes the boundaries of progression even further. The result is a shape across the entire range, that achieves complete harmony between rider and bike. The main goal was to provide the optimal contact points that allow a rider maximum freedom of movement and improved handling. The front and rear fenders feature an intelligent I-beam design, guaranteeing maximum stability with the lowest possible weight. A new tail light design fits perfectly to the new shape of the rear fender and the number plate carrier. The new in-mold graphics confirm the high-performance intentions of this bike, as well as KTM’s never-ending quest for race-winning progression.
SOFTWARE & ELECTRONICS
The state-of-the-art KEIHIN engine management system, with electronic fuel injection, features a new 42 mm throttle body, which provides an instantaneous response and maximum performance thanks to its unique injector position. The ECU features a new map adapted to the new exhaust, airbox and engine configuration for optimal power characteristics.
