Photo-finish after never-ending battle at MotorLand circuit Aragon

Bulega second in a photo-finish after a never-ending battle with Razgatlioglu. Bautista crashes out of fifth place six laps from the end.

Thirty-thousandths of a second separated Nicolò Bulega from victory in Race 1 at the MotorLand circuit in Aragon, which is hosting the tenth round of the 2025 WorldSBK season.

Starting from pole position, which he secured earlier that day with a new all-time circuit record, Bulega was engaged in an intense duel with Razgatlioglu (BMW) during the early laps, with both riders continuously swapping the lead. In the final four laps, the Italian rider mounted an aggressive attack, setting the fastest lap twice, but ultimately had to settle for second place in a photo finish.

Alvaro Bautista started from the second row (P6) and was caught behind the podium group for most of the race. With six laps to go, he attempted to push for fourth place but unfortunately crashed in the chicane before the long straight.

Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #11)
“On one hand, I’m happy because we were back fighting for the win, battling with Toprak from the first lap to the last. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for victory. We need to work on improving our corner exits because I tend to lose a bit of ground in the first few meters.”

Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #19)
“It’s a shame because this round started with a good feeling. After the start, my race pace allowed me to stay close to the leaders. I felt ready to attack Petrucci; I prepared well to enter the straight at speed, but I lost the front. We’ll try again tomorrow.”
