Roberts Finishes NHHA Series Winning Five out of Nine Races

Zane Roberts executed a near-perfect race at the last National Hare & Hound race of the year. He led wire-to-wire from the bomb run to the checkered flag to secure the victory. Coming into the finale nine points behind the leader, Roberts needed this win and a third-place finish or worse from his rival, Dante Oliveira, to retain the number-one plate. Although Roberts accomplished his goal of winning—marking his fifth victory of the season, a career best that almost doubled his previous lifetime total—Oliveira’s second-place finish sealed the championship, leaving Roberts just four points shy in the final standings (235-231). Despite the disappointment of losing the title after such a dominant season, the Beta Factory Rider really had a season to be proud of. With his performance, Roberts topped the new Pro division of the Off-Road Masters Championship, which combines finishes of both the NHHA and West Hare Scrambles Regional Championship Series.

“Bittersweet weekend for the final round of the NHHA series. The best thing I could do this weekend was to win the race and hope for a little luck on my side for the championship. I did my job and was able to rip a holeshot and lead wire to wire. Unfortunately, that wasn’t good enough for the title this year, but overall, still super stoked with how I rode and that I was able to win 5 of the 9 rounds. Motivated to get back out there next year and go after that #1 plate again!”
