Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Dalton Shirey lands Lucerne Valley Hare and Hound podium

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing rider Dalton Shirey made a welcome return to action at Round 9 of the 2025 AMA National Hare and Hound Championship in Lucerne Valley, California, on Sunday, powering to a third-place result in the Pro Class.

The three-time series champion Shirey had been absent from this year’s series since finishing fourth at the second round, but was able to quickly regain front-running form onboard his Husqvarna FX 450 this weekend.

A slow start had the 27-year-old playing catch-up during the early segment of the two-loop race, with Shirey climbing from P5 on the opening lap to claim a solid third-place result by race’s end when the checkered flag flew.

“I didn’t get the greatest of starts today – I was in the dust, which made it a challenge to see,” reflected Shirey. “I had a fall as well, that cost me a bit of time, and having been off for as long as I have been, my fitness wasn’t exactly where I would like it to have been. I just need a bit more time and some more racing under my belt, but it’s good to see that my speed is still super-strong. A big thank you to my team for standing behind me through the injuries.”
