Battling for coveted class wins throughout 2018, Loïc Larrieu has claimed the Enduro 2 class victory on the second day of racing at the GP of Germany. Enjoying a strong season aboard his WR450F, the Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team rider has secured the runner-up spot in the 2018 FIM Enduro 2 World Championship’s final standings.
Taking place in Rudersdorf, outside Berlin, the 2018 Enduro World Championship season finale featured a total of 21 special tests contested during the two-day competition. Loïc Larrieu enjoyed the best possible start to the race weekend in Germany, topping the short opening SuperTest on Friday evening.
Making some small mistakes in the opening lap of day one, the Frenchman pushed hard during the remaining two laps on Saturday to regain the time lost. Topping three tests along the way, Loïc claimed a close second on day one, finishing less than 10 seconds behind the day’s winner Eero Remes.
Coming back stronger on day two, Loïc Larrieu earned the provisional lead after test two and never looked back. Finishing 32 seconds ahead of runner-up Remes, the Frenchman earned a well-deserved Enduro 2 class victory on Sunday.
One of the most consistent competitors in the 2018 Enduro 2 World Championship, Larrieu wrapped up his season with 11 podium results and a win on the very last day of the season.
