The second race of the penultimate round of the 2025 FIM World Supersport Championship saw Italian star, Stefano Manzi (Pata Ten Kate Racing Yamaha), storm to an incredible race victory at Estoril, clinching the 2025 title in flawless style aboard the Yamaha R9.

Manzi demonstrated intent from lights out, showing hunger for victory and challenging for the lead within only a handful of laps. After 18 laps of fighting amongst the leaders, Manzi crossed the line to secure his tenth win of the season and 18th podium finish.

Away from the heat of championship title, it was a positive closing race of the weekend for Roberto Garcia and the GMT94 Yamaha squad, who brought home a strong dose of 13 points for the standings by finishing fourth across the line.

Italian rookie, Alberto Surra (Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros Team) continued to impress throughout the final race of the weekend, finishing just behind in fifth to conclude a strong race meeting on Portuguese soil.

Judging by Saturday’s efforts, Sunday’s second race of the weekend proved to be more of a challenge for Can Öncü and the Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros Team, who took the chequered flag in ninth after clinching a podium finish in yesterday’s opening race.

It was a disappointing end to the final charge of the weekend for Lucas Mahias (GMT94 Yamaha) who suffered a small crash after six laps of the race.

“It feels amazing to walk away from the weekend with the 2025 World Supersport title in hand. I ran a strong race to bring the title home with a race victory. My rivalry with Can this season has been nice. It was good to fight for the title and not have it handed to me, you always learn a lot for the future when you have a fight to put up. I’d always prefer to win with a fight than to win easily. Can was a very good rival, and it has been great riding with him so far this year. Thanks to all of the team and my family for giving me the support to enable me to achieve this lifetime goal.”
