The Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP and MX2 teams are all set for the 15th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Uddevalla, Sweden.
The hard-packed and stony ‘Glimminge Motorstadion’ circuit, Uddevalla, will stage the Swedish Grand Prix for the 27th time in its history. This venue has been a staple of the FIM Motocross World Championship since 2001, missing only a few rounds in 2016, 2018, and the pandemic years of 2020 and 2021.
As the 2026 MXGP season enters its final five rounds, Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP’s Tim Gajser arrives in Sweden focused on closing the 32-point gap to third in the Championship Standings. With five podium finishes already to his credit this year, the five-time World Champion is looking to build on that tally. While a first GP win in blue remains elusive, the #243 continues to push forward and has been working closely with his team to optimize the set-up of his YZ450FM. If history is any guide, Uddevalla should suit him—he has had six podium finishes there over the years, including two GP wins.
At the same time, Maxime Renaux is zeroed in on rebuilding his base fitness after battling a virus that has impacted his entire 2026 campaign. The 26-year-old Frenchman likes the Uddevalla circuit, and though he hasn’t yet podiumed in Sweden, he proved he can win there with a memorable race win during his rookie season in the premier class.
In MX2, the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 team arrives in Uddevalla looking to keep momentum after another impressive showing from the Reisulis brothers at the MXGP of Flanders in Lommel, Belgium. For Karlis, the MXGP of Sweden presents another exciting opportunity to fight for a podium finish. Having secured his first ever MX2 World Championship podium three weeks ago on the rock-hard clay of Loket, the #47 has proven his versatility—his speed on hardpack is just as strong as his speed in the sand. He enjoys riding in Uddevalla and sees it as a chance to keep the ball rolling.
As for the younger of the two, Janis looks forward to seeing what he can do on a circuit that complements his technical style. At just 18 years old and still in his first MX2 season, Janis is adjusting to the cut-throat calendar and the intensity of the class. The kid knows he has the pace—proven on many occasions, two of which were rewarded with podium silverware.
Uddevalla will be a busy venue, also hosting rounds nine and ten of the European EMX125 and EMX250 championships. For the EMX125 series, it’s the penultimate round (round nine). MJC Yamaha Official EMX125’s Sleny Goyer is chasing a championship medal—he has four podiums from eight rounds and sits third, 30 points off second and 60 off the lead. His teammate Levi Townley missed the first four rounds but has bounced back with two podiums and is just 22 points outside the top ten.
Over in EMX250, VHR Yamaha Official EMX250’s Mano Faure is back after a six-round absence. The French rookie stunned with a podium on debut before suffering a leg fracture at round four. The #295 is finally back. Meanwhile, Jarne Bervoets arrives fresh from a season-best sixth in Lommel, Belgium —a real confidence builder.

“I’ve been quite busy over the past week with training and more testing, and then I did another race in deep sand, in Belgium, during the weekend off. It has been good. I got home earlier this week, and will do one more day of training on the bike at my track, Tigaland, before we go to Sweden for Uddevalla. I like the track in Uddevalla. They made some changes to it last year and I felt it was a lot slower and quite tight to ride on a 450, but I’m looking forward to it. In the past I’ve had some good races there, won a few races and GPs too. My goals are similar to what they have been recently. I want to enjoy riding, to take good starts and to be up front.”

“Weekend off was alright, just trained and kept working towards getting back into good shape again. I like Sweden – nice track and always a great atmosphere. I’ve got some good memories from the past there, winning a few motos in MXGP.The goal is to feel progress in how I feel physically during the Sunday races, and to be able to push more than in the previous races.”

6th MX2 World Championship Standings, 512-points
“The week off was very nice – I raced an international race last weekend in Belgium. Other than that, I kept on training and preparing for Sweden. The track is very fun, I like the ground and many technical parts of it. It should be another fun weekend. I’ve won one EMX125 round there, and I remember it getting me one big step closer to the EMX125 title. I expect myself to work together with the bike and be confident in what I can do.”

“I spent my weekend off racing in Keiheuvel, Belgium – it was a nice race. I like the track in Uddevalla, and the country itself is really nice. I haven’t had anything special there before, but I’m willing to bring some fire this weekend. My goal is to be free on the bike and push hard all weekend.”
